Looking into my options for uca's. Looking at the OME uca, and I think it was one of the few ive researched that says it increases caster and camber (besides spc of course)

"The OME Upper Control Arm will provide an increase between +2.5 and +3.5 degrees of caster and up to 1.5 degrees of negative camber increase (figures based off an approximate 50mm or 2in lift).

Does this mean that when getting an alignment done I will have better results than something like JBA that only advertises increased caster? will the caster and camber increase of the ome mean more adjustability with the cam tabs and it will allow my tires to stay farther away from the cab mount?

My other option right now is the JBA because I know lots of people use them with good results.
I dont want SPC, I dont know of any shops in my area that may be able to get the full functionality out of them, so im gonna go with something less complicated.

Have them on my truck as well as the full BP-51 setup from OME. I actually installed the full lift first without the UCA’s as they came in about a month later. I don’t have the alignment sheets anymore but without them I had less than a degree of caster with camber close to spec. After installing them I’m sitting right at 3 degrees of caster and .25+ camber on both sides and still have adjustment available in the eccentric cams. I like them because they are simple, noise free and use a replaceable sealed ball joint. I have 2 coworkers with icon kits and they basically have to grease the upper arms every other week if they don’t want them to make noise. I grease the ball joints every 5-10k miles and that all the maintenance they have.

Good to know! I went ahead and ordered a set! Did you have to grease the ball joints when you got them or did they come pre greased? Ive heard of some people who had to hear them

I have them and you have to grease it yourself.
I had the dealer do my alignment and the tech was able to get more caster and before and after he worked on it they sent me a video explaining what he did and why. They do alot of lifted tacomas because they have a offroad dept.

They are greased from OME but I added some on install and grease them when I change the oil.

Thanks man, i want the blaze 10s but dont want to spend more money. I got 6112/5160 with headstrong aal and their half inch shim. I got the 6112/5160 set to full lift height.

I was gonna go with jbas uca but i dont want red. Plus i hit them up and asked if i can pick up since im local. They refused, they are literally 10 mins away from me. So i just took my business else where

Yea, i was stoked a local shop was getting a shipment of scs in and i reserved them before they got to the shop. I didn't have to pay for shipping since they were gonna stock them anyway. I liked the easy of changing ball joint with the jba, but also didn't necessarily want red, and ome/arb is a more reputable name in the off road world. What size tires are you running?
Im going to be running a similar setup, with eibach pro 2.0 and 2r in the rear with the headstrong aal. Im going with 285-70-17 ko's, and hoping i can get away without a cmc

I had different wheels when i first got my truck. I have falken widlpeaks 265/70/17 right now. I want to go bigger size but not sure yet. Lol i was looking into the eibach pro too but ended up going with 6112/5160. Didnt want to deal with coilovers as the winters suck here and i use to have coilovers on my wrx.

Did anyone’s UCA leak grease from the sides? I just installed the OMEs yesterday.

should be fine, they might have just had too much grease. I added grease to mine when I got them because I wasnt sure if they came fully greased. The extra grease oozed out and i wiped it off till it stopped leaking out after driving a few times

do it! we sell, install and use these a lot, our customers love them and we do too. These are built very well, never any fitment issues, not flashy but definitely functional, they dont require constant babysitting like some others

So I greased them up as well after installing them. Which inflated them as seen in the photo. I tried wiping it off but it kept coming out. And it was a tiny hole where the grease was coming out from. So I stopped and now it just looks like the same grease stuck on the outside. Haven’t tried wiping them again cause I’m worried it’ll just keep oozing out.

Did do some off-roading today. Felt fine and didn’t notice more leaks. Just curious. I am being sent a new ball joint for free though. UCASP013 Is the part number if anyone runs into any problems.

I would save that as a spare, just wipe off the excess and run it like that, if you see a lot more grease coming out or start noticing abnormal performance or noise, then change it.

mmmmm good thinking. That’s probably a wise thing to do.

Have you ever heard of a clicking sound? I hear it when I’m at a stop let of the brake and brake again. Or sometimes when I have the wheel turned and going up some small bump. Don’t hear at regular speeds over speed bumps and what not.

    I have…
I don’t think that was control arms related though… I can’t remember off the top of my head, I want to say the click is usually sway bar but again don’t quote me on that

I will take those ball joints off your hands. I'm in need of some. Seems like I have a bad one and failed inspection
