New to Tacomaworld and grateful for all the good info and community. Maybe i haven't stumbled across the right thread but I found a few pics on google with guys running 5100's at 2.5" (AAL 2" in the rear) and 18x10's with -24 offset. Tire size is 275/65/18. Any info or pics would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

If you are set on running an 18 x 10 wheel, I would go with a 285/65R18 tire minimum. IMO, anything smaller and you would be stretching your tire across that wheel. Not saying that is not possible, but for better performance and tire life I would go with a tire that is designed to fit nicely on a 10" wide wheel.

@Discount Tire Direct may be able to offer you some better insight than I.

Been off-road a bunch, have scratched a wheel up but they went through way worse with the previous owner so I'll be repainting them anyway. The wide wheel does help to keep the tire wide.

I don't blame you for not wanting to trim or CMC, but often times it i needed to get the look that you are looking for. I would think with a 32" tire you should be good to go, just going to have to worry more with the width of the tire.

    Thank you

I'm not sure what backspacing you are looking at but 4.5 is stock for 1st gens. So I'm running pretty much stock wheels with a 285 tire, I had to do trimming with the tires that were on the wheels before so I'm not quite sure how much I had to do.

I don't scrub at all dding but I have been offroading and thought I'd have to throw the flares in the back of the truck

These are the tires that was on the wheels before 325/70r18 33.4x13.5
I could turn as long as I was on flat ground

I’m going for the moto metal M0970 18x10 -24 offset and they are 4.56 backspace.

Hopefully the custom offset thread was accurate when he said he didn’t have to trim with the 275/65/18s on the same wheel setup.

Slick look with the 325s @GreeGunc :muscleflexing:

The 325s were horrible. Got caught in a rain storm and it felt like I was on drag slicks

Thank you for posting the results! I think it turned out great!

What modifications did you have to make, if any?

Thanks! I set Bilstein 5100s at 2.5” in the front, got 5100s in the rear as well as aal 2”. No trimming needed!! Just had to lose the front mud flaps. 36BD3945-8C13-4203-8E6E-2281D86FC2B5.jpg

The guy at 4wheel parts is trying to talk me out of running that set up like I also saw from custom offset also. Said it’s going to run into pro with rubbing. Guess I’ll have to Goto discount tire. Looking at doing a pro comp 3” lift on the front with new springs and shocks and a block on the rear.

I've had zero rubbing and zero trimming. Only took off mudflaps

I'd also look into bilstein 5100's instead of procomp shocks.

So you just replaced the 4 stock shocks with the 5100’s? Not sure I would do the aal on mine.

Yessir. They’re adjustable shocks and I set mine at a 2.5” lift. I think you’d be way better off with an aal instead of the block in the back. Post a photo of how it turns out man
