I did Some searching on here and I can’t seem to find anyone rocking a full size actual camper with an over the cab bed style like a “capri camper” or similar not including a “four wheel camper” or anything with a soft top/sides or pop up.

if you’re rocking a full-size or whatever size that fits in a Tacoma actual camper let’s see your pics! Thanks

NO SOFT SIDES, pop ups, canopy shells etc.

    Actual campers only!

    Make model also please!!

Yeah, what do you need to know? I have a 2017 Tacoma and 2015 FWC.

Yeah that’s a pop up correct? Four wheel camper? I’m looking too see if anyone has a non pop up over the cab camper. But now I’m thinking it’s a long shot so light resort to a FWC. What model you got?

I've seen hard side campers on 1st and 2nd Gens. They look good. Haven't seen one on a 3rd Gen yet. I'll catch shit for this, but I have this OCD thing where every time I see a tricked out "overland" Taco with a truck camper, I roughly calculate in my head how much they are exceeding GVWR. There are some really light and innovative pop tops coming out, like the GFC. But no one has created a hard side/none pop-up that technically can be carried by a Taco. Not that it can't be done but it just doesn't seem like a good idea.

I researched pretty much everything before giving up on haRd sided because they are just too heavy for the Taco. Don't believe anyone that says it is OK to exceed GVWR if you install air bags or a spring upgrade because those don't reduce the stress on axle, wheel bearings, drive train and brakes. probably OK to go over a little. With my FWC Fleet fully loaded with 2 weeks food, water, all gear it is 150 lbs under GVWR.

I really like the low profile while driving, especially on jeep roads. Hate the tiny door and the forward roof lift bar that slopes down over the bed as I have conked my head on those so many times I feel like a retired NFL receiver.

Just happened to see taco today with a Travel Lite hard sided in a parking lot so I asked him about it. He loves his, said dry weight is 900 lbs. He installed Timbrens and nothing else.
