Im a little early for friday, but Ive got some "racing" seats in my basement that I have not used in 10 years. Thinking of making a mount for them to fit into the bed.

I wont be putting people in there on a regular, but I will be doing some parades this year with my truck as a support vehicle for the bus company my father in law works at. Figure it would be nice to have a actual seat for the people sitting in the bed throwing candy and refilling the buckets of the other support staff.

I was ready for this to be an epic Friday thread, but what you're saying sort of makes sense. Oh how I long for the days of a guy who's so afraid his bed mat will get stolen that he drives around with it in the cab of his truck or the guy who didn't want to leave his MTB in the back of his truck while he takes a crap at a gas station.

Back to the topic at hand. Personally (speaking as someone who generally participates in my cities Christmas parade) I would get some bales of Hay for people to sit on instead of adding seats. The Hay will allow more people to cram-in and will allow them to move around easier. The feed store near me will sometimes allow the Hay to be returned for a small deposit (I always tell them what I'm going to use it for) or once I think we donated it to a local stable after the event.

Hmmm thats actually a good idea. His step daughter has a horse and works at a stable, so I bet I could just go get some bales from her.

Yeah sorry to disappoint on the outlandish thread that actually ended up being logical. Next week I will make one about how I like to hit trees and want a better bumper, because my rear camera is not good enough because there is a chain covering it that locks my bike to the rear axle, while I commit insurance fraud by hitting someone and wanting to bend the spindle back with a hammer.

EDIT: that post of yours was your 1,234 post.

We had a neighbor that had a Subaru Brat with rear seats.

Out here in AZ, we call it the Indian school bus. Well, without seats. But seats would be cool. No one has seats. Just truck loads of….never mind.

I’ll take how to get your insurance policy voided for 1k, Alex.

But seriously, check out your insurance policy before doing this. Insurance companies make people sign affidavits stating they won’t utilize those death trap seats in the bed before providing coverage on a Brat.

Ha is that where I learned this from? Sounds vaguely familiar. Back from before Doug got so mainstream.

seats in the bed are not legal in many states.. many subaru brat owners were required to remove the bed seats back in the day.

You could put 2 seats facing rearward and two near the tailgate facing forward with a coffee table in the middle. Get-R-done

I had a friend fall out of the bed of my truck waaaay back in 1988. Yup, I'm that guy... It happened while taking a regular old slow corner, I wasn't even driving, another friend was piloting that sweet, sweet, 1985 extra cab Toyota 4x4. Dude started flopping around like a fish out of water, he had just gained a half dollar sized hole (for those that remember that particular coin) in his skull. Coma for 3 weeks. Healing/patching that hole required over a year... so he had soft spot where his brain had no protection. He had to wear a bike helmet for his junior year in high school. Do you know what bike helmets looked like in the late 1980's! Now it's a Friday thread.
