I've been looking for a topper since (actually... since before) I got my truck. It's hard to find one in good shape around here, and I don't want to pay what they cost new.

Yesterday on CL, a guy posted a topper for a "late 90's Nissan." He listed the measurements of the cap as 76" x 60". A little googling and I found that a '94 to '97 Frontier had a bed size of 75.75" x 59.5" so I'm thinking that's what he got (they got longer in '98). The same website listed the size of a Tacoma's bed as 76.25" x 60.25".

The good news, is topper is black, same as my truck, the price is very good (under a hundred bucks), and from the pictures, it's in good shape. Seems like the dude just wants it gone. The problem is, it's 3 hours away, so figure a 6 hour round trip.

Before I drive that far, does anyone know if "close enough" is, in fact, "close enough" here? As good as the price is, it won't be too good if I'm sleeping back there and get rain soaked some night. So... anyone stuck a Frontier topper on your Tacoma?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Should fit no problem make sure you have clamps and before install put that foam tape along the bed side top to make it (reasonably) water and air tight

Thanks Steve. I had the guy measure the width of the material where the topper meets the bed and he said it's three inches on the sides and a 1.5" on the front. So... it sounds like there's wiggle room to make it fit.

The arms (shocks? rods?) that hold the back door up are shot, so I'm going to offer him 50 bucks. If I can get it for that, I think it's worth the gas/time to drive down.
