Took me 4yrs to figure out the picture thing.

I'm still watching the paint dry. Install tomorrow after the recommended 24hr drying period.

How did the dip hold up? I’m trying to decide on plastidip or bedliner for my TRD skid.

Plastidip is just for looks. Bedliner would be for strength.

Either will need to be touched up if you actually use the skids.

Both will get scratched up on the rocks.

If you don't spend time offroad the plastic dip will be fine. I had a dipped TRD accessory skid that I ran for a couple years and the only touching up I had to do was after hitting stuff with it when offroad.

I used spray on bed liner on my current skid (along with a couple coats of self etching primer) and I still have to touch it up once a year.

bed liner would be a million times better for skid.

Cheapo powder coat kit and your oven would surpass any other type of coating in terms of durability. The only parts I would plastidip would probably be the badges. Different strokes for different folks!

If you use your oven to cook powder coat you can never use it for food again (safely) :violent:

I'm going low budget so I'll do bedliner coating and touch it up as needed.

Dont think a skid plate is fitting in most residential ovens.

Even if it was powder coated, it'll need to be touched up as soon as it is used and it won't be as easy to match the original powder coating as it will with a bedliner.
