Anyone order from Alibaba?

Prices are ultra low and thousands of Tacoma parts.

 

Be the guinea pig for that skid plate

 

I’ve done AliExpress for rc car parts. Shipping can take 5 weeks but have always had good luck. I’ll take a skid plate.

 

Alibaba is b2b, they have a moq. You can get "samples" to bypass the minimum. You'll have to dance b2b with them through email tho.

 

Alibaba is legit, it's basically Amazon for the rest of the world but 100x bigger than Amazon.

A lot of what Alibaba sells is only sold in bulk quantities so be sure to check. For instance you can get a RTT for $200 but the minimum order is 10 units (just an example but a lot of their low priced stuff is like this)

 

Just so ya know; Alibaba is the Chinese answer to Amazon.

 

Except they're way bigger than Amazon could ever hope to be. Alibaba delivers 12 million packages a day on average when Amazon does 3 million.

Anyway it's kind off topic...if I were to order something I'd likely pick Amazon if possible just so I'm not dealing with the hassle of handing potential issues with an overseas company, but that could change in the future with how fast Alibaba is growing outside of China.

 

My wife buys so much damn crap from aliexpress I should own stock in that company.

 

Definitely aliexpress. I have a love and hate it though. There are many sellers that don't have the product in stock so the cheapest price and free shipping is no guarantee. Aliexpress has a
middleman approach to hold your money until the product has shipped and sellers are less likely to screw you. It also makes it more secure. I just had an order that first had a wrong shipping address. The seller said ignore it, your item is on its way. It still did not arrive and while the seller wanted to avoid a dispute I did it and within a few days the money was refunded and the order was canceled. I have had many other orders thru them but any problem ones have been quickly fixed.

Is everything on there a knockoff or is some of the name brand stuff legit?

 

Most plastic parts are made in the US.

Good thread. I have wanted to buy things from Alibaba or Aliexpress in the past, but man, I could never just "click" to buy. I had to inquire with some middleman, and as others have also stated, some things are only sold in quantities, so you have to look carefully before you buy. I wanted to buy a "Harley Coco Scooter" from them, as it was only $395, including the battery, but I could never find a way to just BUY IT, without going through a bunch of hassle. Let us know how it works out though, and I somewhat like those TRD Sport emblems that go on the sides of the truck! I like different stuff!

 

I’ve ordered a few things from them, worst part is shipping takes damn near 2 months. But so far the items have been pretty decent for the price. Instructions are unreadable but the products themselves seem okay.

 

I think they made a movie about that once . . .

 

I'm an American and I only buy American made shite, wait Hazard Fraught is having a tools disposal sale i'm on it. Maybe with the savings I can take the wife to Arby's for 5 beef and cheddars for $5

 

alibaba or aliexpress actually have ties to companies that can manufacturer for you....but the drawback is you lose the rights to the product and they'll most likely resell your idea.
