just got a yeti tundra 50 and goddamn if she don't sit nice in the bed of my DCSB... But I'd like to keep it there.

Have any of you tried the cable lock yeti offers (or similar) to keep your yeti (or similar) where it belongs? Is a bed tiedown ring a secure enough option?

I use the cable lock. I have a truck box in the bed of my truck and use the tie down underneath it. The lock will not prevent theft. If someone wants to steal your awesome Yeti they will. It will deter your snatch and grab tweeker for sure though. The bed tie down ring is in the same category as the cable lock. Definately not bomb proof but good enough in most circumstances. Just my 2 cents.

I use the rear left dring for my yetis. But I'd imagine if they wanted it bad enough they would just yank and break my bed and take my lock cable and cooler with them.

In the future I plan to make a tie down point to the frame and through the cubby hole. That way when not it use the cable is hidden.

I have mine tied down using the yeti locks (one on each side) it's near the cab so I use the two silver hooks not the d rings on the floor. As stated, it's not theft proof, but it will keep the snatch and go thieves at bay. Love my yeti.

This. But it's better than nothing! Also, with a bed mat and the Yeti rubber footings, it doesn't move at all

I used to run the little cable through the molded hole under the lid to keep it secure but the metal bracket thing is much better. That way you can put a beefier cable or a chain through it. Same as above, not theft proof but you aren't going to pick it up and walk off. Most people don't just carry bolt cutters around with them.

Gonna pick up a cable today... I think the local ace hardware carries yeti accessories so if they have the metal bracket I'm gonna grab that too. I didn't know much about the yeti's but I really wanted one (I'm sure I don't "need" one) Really, the one scenario I had in mind is the end of the day after a long hot stretch of single track on my dirtbike... So many times I get back to the truck, camelback almost empty (and warm) and I'm completely overheating.... Open my old junk coolers to find water... And cool-ish drinks. Cannot WAIT to find a chest full of ice with some real cold refreshments waiting!

Also- just wondering- it's pretty hard to find a review where 50 haters have 100 reasons why you shouldn't buy one. I'm guessing there's some truth somewhere in between the lines? I get it, not everyone is ready for a $400 cooler... Hell, guys spend LESS "lifting" their tacomas! Maybe the same guys who hate on expensive coolers and King shocks? Haha.

I have the metal L shape yeti lock..Any way I will run the cable threw that then threw the molded hole and of course threw the D ring...Take all of the slack out of the cable, that way no one can get in it.

If you use just the L bracket to lock the cooler to the truck, your still leaving the lid open for sticky fingers.

The only good thing I can see about the yeti is its built to last,no more crappy hinges or latches..If they do break you can always replace em...still ends up being cheaper then buying a colmen every year.

My Pelican Cooler lives in the back of my truck. Bought pre-made sections of 3/8 in poly coated double eye cable for about $7.00/ each and a couple locks from Lowes.

With the way Pelican is configured, I add a couple of cheap straps when off road. Easy works for me, keeps bears out, holds ice, etc...

Pelican has a dual handle system- not made of rope. They also have 4 strap points, molded into the cooler itself, not 2.

I own the 35 qt; pictured in the Truck.

FYI unless you just want the yeti piece Walmart sells a coiled rubber coated cable that is about 5 feet long stretched for 4.99

It looks like a bike cable but is in hardware section. I use this and master lock.
