I bought a 2021 SR5, Automatic. I was going to have the dealer install a Remote Starter before I took delivery but when he said it was going to cost around $600.00... No thanks.
I have looked up several brands on E-bay & Amazon. I found one that seems to be very easy to wire up w/ "T-Harnesses". on the exception of one wire, all the rest is plug in harness ready. Setting up the module once installed appeared to be very simple as well. I marries to your existing key FOB (2 clicks of the "lock" button starts it), Auto shut off @ I believe 20 min. run time. Can also shut off if need to also w/ another 2 clicks of the "Lock" button. It slips my mind what the brand is...I have info in my office but they have an install video and appeared to be a simple install.
Has anyone installed their own Remote Start? Anyone have a preference on Brand? Website or link? Definitely getting one before winter for sure. Earlier would be fine too!!!
    Thanks my fellow Tacoma friends.

Remote start w/ vehicle control and locator, Prinsu rack w/ Cali Raised Light Bar and 360 LED lights, LED Bedlights, Tailgate lock, 3" Lift, Wheels and Tires, Raptor Lights, LED headlights and fog lights, Blacked out LED taillights, Front windshield eyebrow tint, Rough country bed molle, 8-gang switch to control LEDS, Dominator D6 running boards/side steps, Blacked out sequential mirror turn signals
I installed the n2 designs remote start and smartphone module and love it. Both are easy plug and play installs. Love the smartphone app control where you dont have to be in key fob range to control the truck. The gps location feature is awesome too. There is a $200 difference between the push to start and the keyed ignition modules. I have the push to start so I cant elaborate on the difference on installs and price. I recommend looking into smartphone modules along with the remote start modules, because of the smartphone control and most major insurance companies will give you a discount for having GPS tracking. USAA gives me a $40 discount on my 6 month premium. There is a $30 annual fee for the smartphone app so the discount pays for that.

So "n2 Designs" is that the brand name? Where can I purchase? I definitely want to invest in one before winter.

Yeah that's the brand. I bought them through runnin4tacos.com
You can buy the remote start together with the smartphone module or separately.
Thats the main reason I bought them so I can start my car and melt the snow off.

Here is the install video for the remote start so you can get an idea of what it takes to install.

iLLFadedBowl; Dropping you a note of thanks once again. I purchased & installed the N2 Remote Starter. Absolutely a wonderful addition to the truck. Very easy install. I did not yet get the Smart Phone module. I may later. I also bought it from Runnin for Taco. Ready for the cold...The truck anyway...Not me. Lol. God Bless.
