Im thinking of going pick up a set of super swamper IROK ND (non-directional) this friday.
it seems that not many people run them on tacomas.
Anyone know anything about these tires?

well. since no one has any input. heres a picture of my truck with the Iroks. for anyone who would like a close up picture of them just let me know. the tires are made by super swamper and they are a non directional tread. i got 33,000 miles out of my federals and i still have about one third of the tread left on them. (im one of those people who ACTUALLY rotate their tires every 3,000 miles). i suspect to get anywhere between 40,000 to 50,000 miles out of these tires. (with proper rotation and air pressure of course).

I was looking for a new wheel set up and I came across super swamper iroks and I searched for how they would look on a Tacoma and you’re the only one I found. I must say after seeing your truck, I pulled the trigger and ordered me a set. How are they holding up so far? I know this thread is old but if you could let me know, much appreciated!

Just curious if you are basing your purchase off looks or type of usage? Those looks to excel in the offroad environment but I would be concern DD use due to noise, ride quality, and faster wear versus an AT tire.

    Welcome to TW.

Here in Hawaii, we like aggressive tires in case we “need” it to off road to help others but I don’t use it as much, then again why have a truck if it can’t off road. Noise isn’t an issue, I love loud tires. I have federal couragia Mts, range E, right now, they’re doing just fine and super loud too, but every single Tacoma that gets lifted has these tires. I kinda wanna stand out, these super swamper iroks on my Tacoma would be the first on the island. I run Load range E on my trucks and they last a really long time with proper air and rotation maintenance. I do work up a mountain, that’s the closest my truck gets to off roading.

A girl driving a Tacoma is cool in my eyes, regardless of location or truck build. Do what makes you happy with your tacoma. That goes for all Tacoma owners.

I'm on my 3rd set of these tires and so far, so good. i usually get a little over 40,000 out of them and then i swap them out for a new set. They do great in the mud and are great for daily driving. Like all super swampers, they need to be rotated every 3,000 miles. If you do that, you'll be fine. there's still plenty tread left after 40,000 miles, but it is significantly low at 40,000.

It's because Hawaii is notorious for comically tall lifts and oversized tires. There's definitely a distinct style preference out there.

Yes I know that. It’s sadly true and I think it’s ridiculous. My truck has only a 3 inch lift and the biggest I run is 33s. All tucked under, legal and reasonable. Funny thing is they’re either jacked with stretched tires or jacked on stocks.

I had a set of iroks on my 99 F250 and really liked them. They lasted pretty well and worked well off-road and in snow. Ice was a different story but other than a dedicated snow tire no tire works well on ice especially a big mud tire. I wouldn't be afraid to run iroks again. Resized_20171001_144133001_7546.jpg
