I need a right cv axle and was told by my local dealership that Toyota no longer sells new cv axles only remans and that they’re 600 parts on back order. This can’t be true is it? Gonna try another dealer tomorrow just thought someone on here would have some insight on this ‍♂️

Go to NAPA. I've had their cv axles on mine for several years now with no issues.

I've heard it the other way around. OEM remans (at least for 1st gens) are discontinued but you can still easily get new OEM CV axles

You can. And you can get both new and reman for 2nd Gen.
Someone posted the part # for the remain on here not too long ago.

I was told by the dealer in early July that the remans were on national back order and there were none in the good ole USA to be had.

I can attest to this! I’m in central Washington, in need of at least one CV but I always have to do both sides with anything. Dealer told me the same thing…

National backorder on both new and remans.

Parts guy was able to pull some from other dealers though, so I got a reman from Portland Oregon and the other one is still on the way.

The one from Portland was kinda banged up in transport, outer dust seal metal ring was bent all outta shape. I was able to straighten it back to almost perfect, it’ll work still. But guess what?!

Parts guy said even dust seals aren’t possible to get! What the hell is going on?!

US federal law(s) says the auto manufacturers have to support for 10 years and also through the warranty period.

I also have also been told from my local parts guy the remans are on backorder indefinitely. Just grabbed a used axle off eBay still has the green sticker on the shaft.

Napa cv's are a good choice due to the lifetime warranty but I've also heard of people running into binding issues at full droop with them. If you don't do any offroading or have crazy angles due to lift than no problem but just something to consider

Same both sides and I used the new NAPAs as no dealer had any as you know.
Good price perfect fit and was a good time to do the drivers side ECGS bushing and both front seals.
