I have the icon stage 5 kit in my 2016 TRD OR. I ordered the RXT leaf spring pack and I noticed in the description it says:
“For best results (and increased wheel travel), use in conjunction with ICON RXT rear shocks.”

Do I need to get the RXT rear shocks? Will my ride quality be fine if I dont? Thanks.

A quick internet search suggests that the icon stage 5 kit comes with rear shocks.

To be sure, you should link what you bought or post pictures of it.

That page says your kit includes rear shocks and an add-a-leaf. I’m not sure why you ordered an additional full leaf pack. Maybe you should call them and they can set you up with what you need.

between the rear bumper, bed rack, rock sliders and other gear there’s more weight now. I think around 300 pounds. Icon recommended I get the leaf pack.

Ok but the full leaf pack is redundant with the add-a-leaf.

You're missing the fact that icon makes special rear shocks for the Rxt springs that allow for more travel, OP is asking if he needs to replace his current shocks from the stage 5 kit with the Rxt specific ones.

I run Bilstein 8100 rear shocks with my RXT pack, if you don't want to run ICON shocks there are other options that will work.

OP stage comes with minimal lift 0-1.5 shocks Screenshot_20230801-152037_Chrome.jpg

Based on this reply from Icon in another rxt thread I'll go with new shocks are not needed to run RXT but OP prob won't get the best out of the RXT unless goes to an extended travel rear line the RXT shock .

Also kinda irrelevant since you have icons up front but yes the rxt leaf kit works fine with other brands

I did a quick read of the link posted above.
It mentions “2.5 extended travel coil overs” which implies the front shocks but they don’t specify the increase in rear shock travel over stock (extended length - collapsed length)

the stock leaf pack good for about 9” of travel I believe so maybe the icon rears are a bit longer but I doubt it.

    Check out this article

    https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/

    And here:

    https://accutuneoffroad.com/article...acement 05+ Tacoma rear,an extra 2″ of droop.

I have the archive garage hammer hangers and shock relocation using an icon rxt. I have 12” of rear travel using a 2.5x12” shock

Even if icon makes both normal length and extended length shocks for the taco (I don’t claim to know), OP, you are not going to notice one bit of difference on the road. There might be a slight difference in the serious off road context.

You already poured $4000 into your truck. I think you should save your money.
