Anyone have the Alpharex LUXX series headlights and know how to change white DRL to Amber?

Unfortunately there were no instructions in the box, so I had to search online and only found instructions for the NOVA series. I thought they might be the same, so I tried what the instructions said which was to connect two wires found in the headlight housing behind the low beam cap, but I do not have these wires. I've checked under all caps and all around both headlights. If anyone has these and knows the solution I'd appreciate it!

    Per their website:
"Selectable White/Amber DRL (Daytime Running Light) offers the flexibility to choose between white LED or amber LED illumination for the light tube during both daytime and nighttime. The white DRL complements all vehicle colors, while the amber DRL adds an off-road or stylish aesthetic that pairs well with other lighting features. This versatile feature not only enhances the appearance of the headlights but also improves visibility, making it easier for vehicles in front to notice those behind them."

UPDATE: So turns out I actually received the wrong headlights lol. They sent me the similar-looking PRO series, instead of the more expensive LUXX series that I ordered. The PRO series does not come with the DRL option. I've been in contact with Tacoma Beast and they are sending me the correct ones and gave me a label to RMA the ones they sent me.

I sure did. I got the headlights working fine, I just can't figure out how to get the Amber DRL instead of the White DRL. That isn't mentioned in those instructions unfortunately.

It's the connection that makes both right and left DRL's work. The SR5 converters plug into it on both sides and attach to a small wire coming out of the housing and also a connection to the turn signal. The turn signal is Amber, but the DRL are white. There is supposed to be a way to switch from white to amber-only at all times.

But it says to leave the passenger's side unconnected. Have you done this to see what you get?

I have. You have no choice, as there is no second yellow wire that is long enough to connect to it anyway. The only yellow wire from the DRL harness is just long enough to connect to the converter on the driver's side.

Yes, I've had them for a couple of weeks now, so I've driven with them on and checked them out at night, etc.

I don't see any information on the selling site that mentions color choice selection.

See my original post. I've provided the link from their site as well.

Yeah that's the yellow connection I mentioned. That's the only one and it's just long enough to reach the driver side converter only. That's why it says to just leave the passenger side unplugged.

Thanks for your responses by the way. I'm currently in limbo with their support and trying to see if they can help me, but it's been a week so far and I've tried a couple of different avenues.

The SR/SR5 combines the DRL feature via the Turn Signal (high) filament.
The converter is suppose to separate that feature, which would be the yellow wire butt connector.
DRL signal is supplied via DRL box with juice from battery and INJ fuse tap.

    Question:
Does the yellow wire with black connector exit the converter side or the Lamp side?

    Nevermind:
    upload_2024-9-20_23-21-7.png
Seems surrounding LED has it's own wire externally.
My guesstimate is color choice is yellow or brown. Input to it decides color. But there are no connectors to use or provided.

Hmmmm. I didn't have any connections coming out like that from the back of the headlight housing. I have the blue/black and one brown one though. The grey connection on the converter goes to the turn signal, the yellow connection to the yellow connection from the DRL harness, and the black connection is not plugged into anything on both sides. I assumed that picture was just showing an example of a converter already plugged in. However, according to the picture on the website, it shows a connection on the turn signal already there (grey connection with two plugs coming out). Maybe that's the piece I am missing. I don't think there were any other separate connections in the box, but I kept them, so I'll have to look again and see what I can find.

I looked in the box and in my center console, etc. but I could not find a connection that replicates the one shown in the picture. I've message Tacoma Beast support, so hopefully they'll get back to me on Monday.
