I love the FJ Cruiser steelies. They are a common swap onto the 80 series Land Cruisers as well. Very high quality steelie wheel compared to like some pro crap steelie or similar cheapie stuff.

Another thread resurrection! What's the tire size here? I have more or less the same suspension and trying to pick up the same wheels, been trying to decide on tire size and I think this is the right one.

I had FJ Steelies on my first gen with 255/75/17 tires. No spacers required!

Ditto on that. No issues with rubbing (though I do have a bit of a suspension lift). CCBBEE18-C693-4F8A-BB7A-EB0128C7A5D4.jpg

Perfect! That's what I landed on and found a set of FJ steelies with BFG's in that size already mounted. They're en route to me currently. Excited to get everything together. Thanks for the help!

Back from the dead lol. For anyone running the steelies, I do want to remind you guys that after 1-2 yrs, the OEM coating does turn brownish so you might want to spray a nice satin black paint before mounting tires.

Unfortunately, I can second that recommendation. I have to take off and touch up now (roughly 2 years?)

Bump- I needed a 17” wheel to run the mtr 35x11.5 I went with some cheap sequoia wheels. Do you guys think the 17” fj steel weigh more than 17” sequoia alloy wheels?

Got them in this weekend! The factory coating DEFINITELY shows it's age, but I actually kind of like the look. Gonna run with it for now and see how I like it, worst case I'll pull the tires and paint or powder them down the road.

I have a question for you and anyone else running the 5100's and AAL - what's the consensus on the overload spring? I have a slide-in camper that I stick on the truck from time to time and also hope to throw my mototote on the back with my CRF for desert trips this season, so I want to maintain as much load support as possible, but I haven't found solid info on how the overload spring will perform in terms of capacity in conjunction with the AAL, and I also want to avoid jacking up the rear too much and ending up with rake, or poor ride (comparatively - I know "ride quality" is mostly out the window in an unladen solid axle rear end especially when maintaining higher load capacity). I DO plan on adding the firestone bags in the very near future, just want to get the static components dialed in first. Anyone have any thoughts on the overload?

Excited to get this all together!

Any alloy wheel will be MUCH lighter than a steel wheel. If I had to guess, they're probably over 40 lbs each. You might have to run spacers so check clearance between the tire and the UCA even with an 11.5" tire.

Follow up questions: Did you leave your overload in with the AAL or did you take it out? Are you also maxed out (2.5) on the bilsteins up front and how does it ride? Are you 4x4 and if so are you seeing any issues being maxed out?

Results w/ 5100's all around set at 1.75 up front. Decided to forego the AAL for now.

Updated update: Added the ride-rite's and it's been handling my reasonably heavy setup impressively this summer. I added daystar cradles which seem to be hurting the ride a bit, still working on dialing in and holding the right unloaded pressure for everyday driving, might pull the cradles to see if it's a big improvement. Excited with how it came out, though
