I have a bone stock 2019 Tacoma Off-road and I just ordered a lift from headstrong. While I was on the site they had discounts on BD lights. So I picked up a set of Squadron Sport Amber WC.

I installed them as directed in the instructions and checked negative and positive polarity. Everything went in pretty straight forward. I switched on the fog lights and they looked great. However once I started the vehicle and the daytime running lights turned on the fog light started to flicker.

BD tech center said Tacoma‘s shouldn’t have that problem and there’s probably a loose connection. I checked everything over and it all looked good. I still have the same problem and waiting to hear back from @Baja Designs

I’m wondering if anyone else had this problem. Seems like a lot of people are running this set up.

    Thanks for any help.

I do not. I looked that over. I’m a little confused on it. Doing that mod pretty much keeps the fogs on all the time? How would that help the flickr?

Might sound crazy - get your battery tested.

I'm just looking for places that you might be getting inconsistent power...

What was said above was my next guess... Battery. Maybe alternator?

Ok I will test it. I’m guessing for a 2 year old truck all of that should be fine.

The factory fog lights work fine.

My buddy had the same issue a few weeks ago. Flips the switch and it flickers. Turns out his battery was bad.

Ok just had the battery tested at Napa auto. They did a battery test and alternator test. Everything was good. Off, on and under load.

I just put my meter on it for shits and giggles and battery is 12.7v. When vehicle is running its 13.7v.

can you hook them right to the battery to see if it still happens? if so then the light is bad, if not, something is up with that wiring.

I wired them up to a battery on the work bench and they were fine. When I ran a wire directly to them from the battery I got the same flicker when the truck started. However it wasn't as bad as when it was plugged into the fog light switch.

BD wanted me to send them back and they would do testing and send them back. I wasn't willing to wait that long especially when I was told on the phone engineering was busying working on a new light and wasn't sure when they would get to my problem. So I sent them back for a return. Looking at diode dynamics lights now.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

    I think you heard right!
You can head on over to www.hotshotoffroad.com and I can get you hooked up. I've got everything in stock to boot! If you have any issues or questions just shoot me a pm and I'll help you out.

Also find myself curious what the new BD light might be...

My S8 bar had a slight flicker. Contacted them and was told to double check connections and power source, no issues on my end. Sent bar back to them and they determined it was on them and they fixed it no problem.

I have the squadron sport amber as well and when I turn them on they flicker at first for a few seconds then they stay on. I'll be double checking connections but it's weird that it's only momentary. I'm using a CH4x4 dash switch wired through the BD relay harness.

I had this exact issue but kinda different. I found out that two strand of the ground wire was not crimped and one was very close to the dimming terminal inside the light. Every bump would just slightly move the strand and cause it to touch the dimming terminal which causes the light to dim, making it seem like it's flickering. I sent this photo to BD and they said they would take care of it but I just decided to clip off the uncrimped strands instead of sending it in and waiting. This was on my XL80. Not sure if this is the case with your set but doesn't hurt to double-check and cross it off the list.
