Anyone fit three Diono 3RXT car seats in a double cab? I'm actually only looking to fit two, but I'm looking to fit them on the passenger side and middle spot, and I'm going to remove the 40% driver's seat and build a platform for the dog. If anyone has been able to fit three across, I'd be able to fit the two. @6MTPro I've seen you recommend this seat before, do you think it would be possible?

And no, this is not our daily setup. The wife's Pilot is for that. This is for camping and other various trips. I realize this is not an ideal everyday solution.

I can’t speak on behalf of that brand but we do an infant car seat, a graco car seat similar to the Diono, and a booster seat in the back of my double cab. Not sure if I could do wider or not but I took all the kids and car seats to the dealer for a test drive before buying.

I did it with different brands that were wider than the diono and it worked just fine.

also, check out the graco slim fit. They’re cheaper, lighter, and come with better head rests

I’m using two diono 3rxts behind the passenger seat and in the middle so I can access the storage on the drivers side rear seats again. I have a wood platform behind the drivers side that I use for my dog although the area is a bit small for him it works well in a pinch especially since it’s usually too hot to put him in the bed here in AZ

That’s exactly what I’m planning to do. Thank you. Are either of those seats rear facing? Both of ours should be Reer facing for now, although our oldest is technically big enough according to Diono. I’ve seen it fits rear facing with the foam wedge so width wise it should work.

The diono claim is that you can do three across and I've seen pictures of it in a civic. Only issue is that the middle doesn't have the LATCH setup so you would need to do it with the seatbelt.

No, both are forward facing. i never used them rear facing in the truck as they didn't seem to fit without moving the front seats forward a lot but like you said it should be the same width wide

Sounds like good enough intel to give it a shot. I’ll report back once I get everything in. I just want to make the platform for the 40% side to make sure it’s big enough for the dog. He used to have the whole back seat before the kids came along.

I have 2 Radian 3R and a 3RX across the back. All forward facing.

I am using two Clek Fllo’s behind passenger and middle rear facing. I have the cup holder attached otherwise I can pull up the seat on the 40% split side.

If we do have #3, we’ll move the oldest to forward facing behind driver, middle child in the middle still rear, then infant behind passenger.

Update. It can be done. Built the platform last week and got to installing the seats today. The dog doesn’t have a luxurious amount of space, but it’ll do for a few hours once or twice a month. Just have to cover the plywood in some anti fatigue floor mats which is what I used on my last platform and we should be all set to go.

I’ll try and get a picture tomorrow. How tall is your wife? Mine is 5’8” and is fine with the seat behind her.

I like them, my wife does not. I can't get the seats super tight when I strap them in. In my wife's car we have a Britax seat that cams down on the seat belt and that thing is solid. The Diono seats always have a little play in them. I called the company, sent them videos of my install and they said I did everything right and the amount of play is normal and acceptable. However my wife who is an Olympic level worry wart still feels uneasy about the seats. I've got two of them in my truck, and one in my Civic, but our boys spend most of the time in her car so they don't go in the Diono seats too much. They do however fit great and I would still buy them again especially knowing they can be used as a booster and will be the last ones I need to buy.
