Anyone Ever Buy A Wheel/s From Factory Wheel Replacement

I put a set of take off Sport wheels on my SR5 a couple weeks after buying it. Found out one was bent when I had the tires mounted on them.

Only way I ever noticed it was if I put my head against the headrest at high speeds. Had a company try to straighten it out a couple days ago, and it was pretty bad. He got it to about 90%.

I'm going on about a 250 mile all highway round trip Sat afternoon. If I'm still getting the vibration from it, I'm gonna replace it. Checked on eBay, and the best I could find was one listed in great condition, but had more marks on the machined aluminum than I'd be happy with.

The guys I bought my tires from said they have used Factory Wheel Replacement on a lot of peoples cars.

Anyone ever buy from them?

Post a WTB ad in the BST... someone local will be happy to offload a wheel on you for cheaper than those prices.

 

Check Craigslist, always Tacoma wheels available in my neck of the woods.

 

I did check, zero in my area.

Plus that's where I got the set with one bad wheel.

I have a set ive been lazy to post. Unfortunately I wouldn’t split though. They are new take offs (less than a couple hundred miles) in mint. Dealer damaged factory set then replaced all 4 and then shortly after I replaced with the t4r or trail

 

Are you sure it's not one of the new tires?

 

When the wheel straightening dude put it on his machine the wheel was far from being true round.

Just got back from my day trip, going was up to 90 a few times, and it was pretty cool. He may have got it good enough. He did say he was surprised the tire hadn't wore from the wheel being bent so bad, but it hadn't.

Still kinda bothers me knowing it was fucked up thou. Would still like to replace it and I'd use the other for a spare.

If the company I mentioned made a good wheel, I couldn't beat the price.
