Haha I have never heard of that, impressive. I would probably order the part through the dealer. I like factory parts for electrical. It should be an easy swap, similar to the intermittent wiper switch swap. Pull the airbag, disconnect the wire harness unclip and pull the switch. Reverse order to put it back together.

I broke one on a '79 Trans Am years ago. It was a SOB to replace! That only had the wires for the signals and the horn. I sure they are much easier on a Toyota product:thumbsup:
I would go with the dealer for the replacement. But that's just me.

Ah shit, nowhere near as simple as I thought this would be. I've only owned the truck a couple months (and my first Toyota after switch from a Lancer) and don't know where to find this damn switch online. Any suggestions or part numbers? Most listings aren't clear on compatibility but it looks like a lot of different Toyota models use this same part.

the switch is about $75 from the dealer. you might find it a partsgeek.com. the steering wheel removal is really simple. there is a thread on here. 05-12 switches should be the same 13-15 had the drl option and I made a right up about that in another thread. all will work with any year plugs are the same through out

@desertrunner24 nailed it, $40 for a switch from a 2010 Corolla vs. $65 for 2010 Tacoma vs. $80 dealer new. Apparently that switch fits a ton of Toyotas and a few Scions. If I had more time to shop it probably could have been had for cheaper but it's kind of a shitty thing to not have while driving around. I used to do the same thing with my old car since Lancer Evo interior = Lancer interior = Mirage interior, and same for most parts for all three - major difference being motor/turbo/trans and about a 1,000 weld points. You can guess which ones were cheaper and direct fits!
