So I mean, I've heard this knock at idle since i bought my truck over a year ago... I kept thinking the oil level is low, so I check it and its always on point, somehow the knock is always there. It seems to only be audible at idle leaving me to assume its low oil pressure causing the knocking cause when I rev it up it goes away.... Anyone else? Any ideas?

I am worried its low oil pressure causing any oil to make it up to the camshaft causing the knock... Is there anyway to measure the oil pressure?

There was that thread with the truck being at an incline causes smoke to billow out the tailpipe... Is there any sure way to measure oil pressure?

yes these motors sound like they have gravel in them when they idle..almost sound like a strange diesel or something. I was convinced something was wrong but its just how they sound..

Do you need to know, or care?
Close your eyes and imagine you are driving a Dodge Caravan, it'll sound completely normal to you.

I took mine in for the same thing on the 3rd. It is noisy all the time. Even while driving there is a "knocking" noise. Dealer said it is normal but they never drove it. Hopefully nothing happrns but if it does then I took it in already lol

Knocking and ticking are two completely different things. These motors have a loud valvetrain, it’s completely normal.

I can hear the ticking at idle. That sounds like my Nissan's fuel injector tick.. Those things are even noisier.. Even with a 3" exhaust, custom header and intake.. Can still hear it..

The noise I hear is driving and it sounds like a rod knock. But like OP said, it's documented if therr is a problem later in .
