Dealer wants first service after 10,000 miles which is serious out of wack so I did it at 3200. Looked for a maintenance reset but no dice. Still want to check my manual, but wanted to come here and ask if that is normal for new trucks.

First service interval is supposed to be at 5K miles according to the manual. You can reset the maintenance required warning using the buttons on the steering wheel. All the info is in the owners manual.

I believe the maintenance light starts warning you (blinking) at the 4500 mark. Then remains on when it hits 5000 miles. You can reset the light through the menu on the dash settings.

Most people don’t consider checking the floor mats and topping off fluids a service. They told him to come back at 10k which as you know is when they do oil changes and the like.

Lol they are supposed to do a simple visual check to make sure nothing is out of sorts like a bolt in the suspension, etc. I do the off 5K checks myself as far as visual checks. I let somebody else change the fluids.

Just reset the maintenance reminder using the dash controls and skip the 5k look over.

Tire rotation, should be done at 5k, one reason light comes on.

Add over tightening the lug bolts to the list. IF they actually rotate the tires.

There is minimal maintenance required every 5k miles for as long as you own the truck.

Anyone else notice the cruise does not work when the maintenance light stays on? Happened to me on our recent trip to LA. Light came on during the drive back and cruise stopped working. Reset the light, Cruise worked. Do they really think a tire rotation will adversely affect the cruise function?

Once you guys get done explaining this one, I can't wait to hear why this annoying light shaped like a gas pump keeps coming on in my truck. Like every 400 miles. Think I should take it back?

    None
Mine appeared on at 4500 miles, where they did a tire rotation, and oil change. Next one came on around 9.5k miles where they did a tire rotation, and vehicle inspection. Around 15k miles it came on again where they did my last free oil change, and tire rotation. Right now just hitting 20k miles, no light yet.
