I believe the XL is much wider. Unless you have the 6ft bed, so you'll probably need a bed rack to clear the cab unless you want a over hang. The open dimension of the XL is 122" W x 76" L x 51" H according to 4WP website.

I have the SB Gen2XL with the annex sitting in my fucking living room waiting on the damn upTop Truss Rack to arrive.
Ive set it up in my living room and slept in it a few nights.
The material seems pretty quality to me. I looked over the zippers and stitching and didnt notice anything wonky... padding is good, frame seems solid, stakes and poles all seem strong...
Just waiting to put it on... waiting. Patiently. Waiting.

Buyer beware when it comes to Roam Adventure co. After alot of comparison, I chose the vagabond rtt from Roam because it seemed to be the best bang for the buck. Free shipping, included premium mattress and anti condensation pad, sky lights, etc.

Box arrived with minimal damage from their shipping partner -Fed-Ex Freight so I accepted the shipment.

Upon unboxing, it was apparent one of the corners took an impact during shipping, causing a tear in the fabric. Also a cover meant to protect the canvas from the bolt broke.

Reached out to them with pictures; They said its minor, and shouldn’t be a problem. They recommended me to purchase tent repair tape (I was pretty livid after spending almost 2k on a tent only to receive it damaged and their recommendation is to go buy another product to fix it..)

After some back and forth they finally gave me a tiny discount but I wouldn't say it makes up for the damage or frustration.

Other than that, it seems well built; comparable to my friends Tepui. However, I cant recommend Roam since they take zero accountability if your item is damaged in transit. If your set on one of their tents, go through a retailer; pick it up in person and inspect it. Or go with another product entirely. I wish I did.

Treeline in Turner Vally Alberta has an amazing 4 season tent. It is full of little things that make it a great tent. They have great support and a great team. It is higher in price but well worth it. I’ve done 53 days total in it end of last year and have 0 issues!

That's pretty weak on the C/S side of things. I got one of their vagabond tents too, and I enjoy it quite a bit but mine came undamaged on the freight pallet that dropped it off. I had it on voodoo bars but I upgraded to a 2021 pro and bought a smartcap to go on the bed. I'm thinking about buying an overland trailer from freespirit recreation (~7k with their vet discount) and mounting the tent on that.

I've had a tepui and more recently an iKamper. The tepui got old to close due to needing to fold the tent fabric in and then covering it and zipping. Quality-wise, the fabric was very durable and waterproof. Really liked the removable roof and the multiple windows. The only issue I ran into was where the ladder rubbed on top of the platform. It was starting to rub into the metal before I sold it. Also, the cover took some abuse and there were some signs of wear.

So far the iKamper is great. It is super easy to open and close. The fabric is durable and waterproof, no signs of wear or leaking. The hardshell covering is really nice. However, it was much more expensive than the Tepui. I really like it for my wife and I but planning to sell in the future with goal of getting an alucab canopy camper.

First, thank you for your service.

Second, Agreed on the weak customer service comment. I appreciate the continued confirmation that it left the warehouse in “pristine condition” but as a customer I either expect to receive my product in mint condition, or an offer for an exchange, or replacement items for the affected items. Regardless of how small the damage is.

And the continued “its ripstop, it shoudnt rip any more” argument from them got old quick. With that logic, it should have never ripped in the first place. End rant.

Despite all the tent bs, I am psyched to finally have one after years of looking at them. My little dude just turned one yesterday and I cant wait to get him out and exploring.

If our family continues to grow, my plan would be to build an offroad trailer to slap the rtt on; put the kids in there. And also build Ripcord’s DIY wedge camper for the misses and I. Pipe dream, maybe.

i have a bed rack and a tepui kukeman 3 right now. entry price was high, but probably the lowest for a rtt setup. my next goal is a camper shell (the rsi evoa looks pretty sweet) and a hard shell rtt. but when you look at the price, its like 3k for a shell and 3k for a tent (if you go clamshell). the gfc super light looks good, but at that point why not pony up and get a full gfc?

Exterior: Diode Dynamic LEDs w/ Baja squadron fogs, Prinsu roof rack, 265 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Apex Sliders, CBI Aluminum Overland Bed Rack, Total Chaos Bed Stiffeners. Interior: Diode Dynamic LED Interior lights. Accessories: Mountain Hatch Tailgate Insert, Roofnest Condor RTT (stays on 24/7), RotoPax extra gas container, Maxtrax, Waterport hose, bottle opener Suspension: Front Bilstein 6112 (set 6/5) 600lbs springs, SPC UCAs. Rear Bilstein 5160 and Icon RXT Leaf springs.
I went with the roofnest condor. Quality is really good. No issues. If you go RTT just keep in mind it’s still a tent and you gonna spend $500-$1000 on bed rack or roof rack.

I have no regrets compared to a few other tents I’ve been in.

just ask yourself do you want a RTT where if you move you take your whole set up with you or do you spend the extra $ for a wedge/tear drop camper. If I had a garage I’d have spent the extra $2k for a tear drop. Camper

Update. Roam’s customer service manager reached out to make things right. Originally, he asked me if more money back would solve it, or send me a new tent (which inherently comes with shipping risk all over again). Ultimately, we agreed that a replacement tent shell would be an agreeable solution.

Just received this today. Happy they came through.
