Anyone here been to Hungry Valley SVRA? Wanted to get some trail recommendations for a scenic, not so technical trail.

Been there countless times on my dirt bike, but only a handful with my truck. Lots of easy trails, just use this map and stay on the 'Green' or 'Blue' stuff.
Condor Ridge Trail is an easy scenic route. Check out the Aliklik Campground 4x4 Obstacle Course.

Out of town through next week, but hit me up sometime and I will join you.

Sounds like a plan. I did air down from 30psi to about 20psi when I was there, it helped. There's several gas stations in the town of Gorman to air back up.

Ohh man, 120 - 130 miles of trails... been on every single one of them.. Just avoid the black diamond trails since they're more on the technical side - usually single direction and you'll be on 3 wheels for sure with some of the turns.

Anyone know what the camping situation is like here? I looked on line and it says that "has approximately 170 campsites throughout the park." but it doesn't say anything about reservations. Id like to head up with maybe a group of 4 trucks max and need to know if its a first come first serve and how busy these sites get.

No reservations. First come, first served. I would be happy to join you, let me know when.
We have been riding there since the mid-90s and know the place very well.

It can get busy on weekends, especially on holiday weekends. But, we've always found an open campsite if we arrive on Friday afternoon/night.

I would like to get out somewhere this coming weekend. Thinking about Ballinger Canyon or Gorman. Nothing too extreme, just trails and playing around with stock tires.

Hungry Valley/Gorman is mostly 2wd friendly go-fast kinds of trails, although you have to be careful about the 'go-fast' part especially around the camp areas or the rangers will kick you out.

There are some fun, technical 4x4 trails in the surrounding area though, Lockwood Canyon & Miller Jeep trail are a lot of fun. 4wd and armor needed for those

We were there last Saturday for a half day. Took my 2019 to really test the climbing strength of this truck. We screwed around the 4x4 practice area but that got old real quick did the twin hill climbs further in the back area. These ones are about 29 deg and 100 ft climb the inclinometer was pegged! My little Tacoma did this hill without even breaking a sweat. Pretty impressed with this little guy.:yay:

Nice...be careful on those hill climbs....the Rangers will ticket you if they see you. ;)
That sign didn't stop me either.

That ain't it bro, go NW on Gold Hill Rd about 2 or 3 miles back into Honey Valley. And look to your left.

I'm probably along the lines of the OP. I'll star this thread as I'd be interested in trying out an old stock Taco here.

OP, how did it turn out for you? I am gonig camping in the Santa Paula area this weekend, might hit up a few of these trails.

Anyone know the name of the trails that are super technical? Trying to stay away from those.

Most of Gorman/Hungry Valley is easy fire road stuff, maybe a few hill climbs but nothing bad. On the far corner of the park there's a trail called Pronghorn and I've heard that one has some spots that are 4x4 required.

The hard black diamond rated trails in that area are outside of Gorman, namely Lockwood Canyon and Miller Jeep Trail
