Any roof visor pics for 01-04?

Found a visor on a Ford in junkyard that I can make work any pics of your own or have come across

 

What is a roof visor?

 

I guess I don't know what else to call it give me a min. Find one on Google

 

It's an 80s/90s truck fad lol

 

Oh, a wind deflector.

 

Or roof spoiler for the rear. I thought about having my buddy make one for me years ago but wasn't sure it would look right.

 

People have different names for things. I wouldn't call that a wind deflector though. It would be the total opposite of a deflector. Lol. I know them as visors too.

 

I thought a wind deflector was what went on the front of the hood, aka a bug deflector - the wind gets deflected up and over the truck sending bugs with it

 

I want to see some 01-04 due to the front hood shape

 

Actually helps shade inside cab. Especially down here in the South.

 

Yeah pretty much, it deflects but I know those as bug reflectors too. Wind deflectors to me are usually found on big rigs & box trucks. But have seen them on full size trucks too. Oh & remember the sprint car looking spoilers people used to put on American trucks? Lol

 

Had one on my lifted Comanche truck looked stupid without it. Don't want my truck to look stupid with one many different styles out there

 

They must kill gas mileage though if not vented. Wonder was happens with heavy rain or snow? Just curious, not my cup of coffee though.

 

Sorry to derail your thread OP lol. I know of one guy on here with a 2nd gen that had a roof visor on his 1st gen before he sold it...but I don't remember his username. Maybe he'll see this thread. They do exist I know that much, just not sure if there's any new ones out there anymore

 

these are the only pics I can find on the net. Front ends are square'r. The one I found has a center point.

No, it's not a "fad" from any era. I guess the millennial "pups" haven't heard of them eh?

They're commonly called sun visors, and were used (and still are) extensively on big-rigs to keep the sun out of your eyes when driving and driving and driving into the afternoon sun, and they work GREAT! They were available from the early 70's onward for pick-ups and vans, and yes, I did own a few of them.

No snow here for me that's for sure. I like the shade it provides. I prefer to look more aggressive too.

 

Unless you hate your truck I would not install one. The wind noise, extra leak points in the roof and the crowning jewel it your windshield ever needs to be replaced it has to come off.
