I want some Katskin leather seats for my truck. I work for a water department so I’m pretty hard on interiors. I’ve researched a lot about them, but haven’t been able to find many pics/opinions on them a few years after install. Interested in how they wear and owners opinions on their durability. Thanks in advance.

In for pics. Interested as well as to how these hold up over time.

I highly recommend Classios and save your cash.

Katzskin holds up well long term provided they are cared for. They need to be conditioned twice a year and need to get quality window tint to block UV rays if your truck is parked outdoors. Heat and sun sucks the life out of leather.
I have no pictures but a couple of my family members have had them. But they care for their vehicles. They don’t treat them like work trucks.
Katzkin like all leather does not hold up if its not regularly conditioned.

I have a 2015 Tacoma Sport that came with the Katskin leather upgrade. So far no issues with the leather. Keep in mind it's a weekend driver only. So it sits in my driveway under the New Mexico sun for most of it life but I keep a sunshade up most of the time.

The advice about conditioning is spot on. I've dealt with, repaired and have leather seats in the majority of my cars. I just bought a set of Katzskins for my Tacoma and am awaiting the order. I bought them via a posting on this site. In any case, the best thing I've found in regard to leather conditioning is the line of products that Leatherique sells. They have a website and their products are fairly well known in the enthusiast community. The added plus for me is that they are local to me here in Aiken, SC. I've brought back junkyard leather seats with their conditioners and use their products on my leather. That includes the sofas in the house. Meguiars would be a back up product if expense is an issue.

Thanks for the advice. I'm particular about my interior so if I end up with Katskinz it will be well taken care of. I like the factory cloth seats, but they're not very durable. I've always heard leather seats wear very well and was interested in seeing some "well worn" seats.
I've almost pulled the trigger on Clazzios a few times, but the price is getting up there with the Katskinz.

The issue I've seen with leather seats is the conditioning, first and foremost. I see plenty of seats in the junkyard that were beautiful, but neglected. Second is something that the owner of Leatherique told me. Most men get in to a car, especially with blue jeans on and sand the crap out of that outside bolster in the way they get in. Jeans are like sandpaper. Its a huge wear issue. One way to avoid it is to get in like a woman. Sit perpendicular to the car in the seat, then rotate in. Doesn't matter if you keep your knees together or not :)

I had my old set for a few years and the only wear in them was from me sliding onto my seat every time I got into the truck due to the lift. Was hardly even noticeable tho unless I were to have pointed it out.

They are great quality seats. With that in mind, everything starts to wear over time.

If we are talking a full set of Katzkins, Classios are over half the price.
Check out the deals section here a lot of times they run a sale with a Tacoma World code.
I got my Clazzios with heated front seats for $550 shipped.

    Just for comparison.
I put about 25k miles a year on my truck so needless to say I’m sitting in the front seat a lot.
They still look brand new. They were put on April 2017

Any input on how they hold up against water?

Check out ebay if you want leather, but know you will be really hard on them- I have seen several sets of Katskinz in beige/ ivory color recently. Around $250. I bought a set and plan to dye the leather with some leatherique later on.
