Thanks! I'm attempting to keep things as quiet as possible (new PSU eventually as it's noisy) so pump speed works but a tad bit more noise potential.

That's too dope of a card to have sitting collecting dust! hope it sells!

For sure. I have noticed at a certain points more rads just delays the heating up of the liquid, but bumping the speed helps a good bit at keeping temps down longer. If you still aren’t happy with temps though you could always delid/liquid metal :D
Sweet! When I get home today I am going to take some pictures and post that card up plus an extra 10900k/motherboard I have. Time to get rid of some of these parts, I already have enough truck parts taking space everywhere lol.

I'm ALREADY tempted and I've owned it for less than 2 days lol.

It's the OC version so from the jump it's core clock is 1755 MHz!

I was tempted to shunt mod my 3080 but the damn things already pull so much power. Another thing to keep in mind is keep an eye on your memory temps. They can get extremely hot in there.

For those 3090 boys. And I'm still adding one to mine since the backplate heat soaks so fast, even with no memory on the back.

I went with the EKWB active backplate. I just need to drain my hard loop to install it but I've been preoccupied doing electrical work in my garage. My wife's comp has the Zotac 3080 (on water) and it oc's surprisingly well and I didn't shunt mod hers. No active backplate needed for 3080's since all the memory is on the front. My 3090 zooms on water, but some of the biggest gains were after shunt modding.

If shunt modding use a hair dryer or heat gun to warm up the PCB before soldering. The PCB's absorb so much heat by design it makes soldering without pre-warming a real pain. If you need some resistors I bought a whole strip from ebay last year since it was $2 for 25 when I needed just 2, just shoot me a PM with your address and I can drop some in an envelope.

Man I love buying PC gear but I have zero desire to shunt mod $2K graphics cards lol. Turn that card you waited a year for in the shuffle into a nice paperweight if you screw up. Unless you're trying to run stuff at 4K/144hz Ultra there's no point anyways.

Also, weird pet peeve of mine, why do I see so many people getting into modding their cards to draw 800 watts but then running dinky ass 1K PSUs that aren't even tier one spec lol.

Not necessarily guys on here but in general I find a lot of people want to spend piles of money without spending anything on feeding it properly to actually get the best clocks. It seems like if you're willing to throw away $2K on a potentially dead card you should be okay with $500 on a decent PSU for extreme overclocking.

    PM’d :)

I got it the first time I entered the shuffle so I bet I could win again if it goes bad.

jk jk, I need better monitors before I do anything else to make it worth it

I always go over with a PSU. When I had just a quadro card and 4 fans I still went with an 850. I knew I’d be upgrading eventually lol.
Right now if I shunt mod I want 1200 plus

On the other side of that I love doing things like that. I'm very well versed in soldering and had little hesitancy to take the iron to my 3090, especially for a couple shunt resistors and a 3-pin header (for an EVC2). I run 3k/1440p ultrawide and the performance boost is noticeable. But I also run games on max settings usually with DLSS quality. Though I'd be plenty happy with a 3080 and the rest of my computer is specc'd for a 3080 but back in December 2020 and Jan 2021 when I was trying for 7 weeks to buy a graphics card specifically a 3070, 3080, 3090, or even a 6900XT the one that made it past all the bot buyers was the 3090 TUF (non-oc). I bought the monitor after I had the 3090 since the 3090 was wasted on my old 1080p monitor.

So I tried to get every ounce of performance I could out of it, with the hardware I had/have. That's what overclocking is all about!

Overclocking and custom BIOS flashing plus a shunt mod are two totally different levels. You cannot easily kill a card by playing around in MSI afteburner. There's so many safeties built in you're golden, worst case is the system hard locks and goes back to stock.

Upping the stock voltage with a black BIOS acquired from a PM on a Discord and soldering a new set of resistors onto a card is a totally different level that amateurs shouldn't try unless they're ready to kill their card. It's all good if you want to do it, you have the experience needed to do it and you understand the risks, but for someone reading this they need to know the 10-15% frame rate increase from these mods could come with a $2K price tag. That's all I was saying. Oh, and that if you're going to run a card at 600-800 watts of power draw then buy a 1.2 kW or higher PSU and make sure it's a teir one model. Otherwise you're just adding the risk of unstable overclocking from unstable power.

I get about a 17.3% increase in benchmarks and FPS from my efforts and that much makes the difference between smooth 3k gaming at max settings or turning things down a bit. But I'm also used to an environment where mistakes mean people can die so a little soldering is no big deal but I've also been doing hobby electronics and soldering for a few years now too.

Most of you guys probably have good experience in this. I need to be picking up new skills and have been learning Python but had to make it fun for me haha

I'd like to learn python too. I've modified some code here and there, but I couldn't write something from scratch.
