Someone needs to combine the 2WD low mod and anytime locker mod into one- Would be nice to have 2WD, 2WD Low and 2WD locked.

I have the Experimental Designs anytime locker and have had no issues with it- does this one offer anything different? Seems to be about the same price.

EDIT- I don't know why, but that site and the way its written makes it seem a little shady. The over-the-top military references make it seem like its AI generated with those prompts.. :laser:
They claim to be the original? and their biggest differentiator is that you don't have to mount the indicator light? And don't need the one t-tap? But you have to find a spot to mount their switch?

    I dunno- I like mine..

Love the idea with combining them all.

This one is different because it is advertised as fully pnp with no cutting.

I've heard you can stack the 2 individual mods- but I'm a little hesitant to try it..

nope, no way, never. The company that you referenced also sells the throttle grenade.....

Use the OG version, ExperiMental Designs, and reward the guy who worked his tail off to make it work, (not someone who copied EMD's system)

Another here with the Experimental Designs version. Mine works great. I do like the full plug and play that Black Ops is advertising but really, use the OG kit and drill a hole for a light or use theirs that has it already wired up in their harness? Sounds like the same thing just slightly different.

Also, to me it just looks like another kit from someone who is late to the party.

I’m considering the ED one because it uses the oem switch.

How has it been holding up for you?
Also did you do the 2Lo as well?
…(Is there only one 2Low option?)

In which situations outside of 4lo wheeling do you feel the need to lock the rear diff? This is a honest question.

Just more capable in 2wd overall.
In my 93 pathfinder after installing the lock right mechanical locker there were a lot of times I didn’t need to put it in 4h. It made a huge difference over the oem lsd.

You just had to learn to not be on the gas in a tight turn, it really wasn’t a big deal.

The e-locker or ARB’s are on or off so you don’t want that on all the time.
The LR was less than half the cost of the others.

No issues with the exp. designs anytime locker- its been in for over 6 months and has got plenty of use and hasn't glitched out yet. You have to run one t-tap, but it was a pretty easy install.

The traction control does a decent job of keeping one wheel from spinning in 2wd, but having the rear locked in 2wd makes it more predictable.

For me, 4Lo-Locked is only to get me out of a sticky situation- with a DCLB, I'm not taking her anywhere crazy that even needs 4lo except to control speed on downhills.

But you have 4hi which is much better the locking the rear diff in 2hi.

You actually don't have to run that t tap. I didn't and I've had mine for almost a year. Just turn off traction control when I use it.

Still amazed after all these years there isn't a simple 'grey wire' mod for this. Toyota engineering really should give themselves a pat on the back for making this simple mod ridiculously impossible.

Depends. If you have one side in slick mud, i would argue 2wd locked is better than 4hi.
And steering is easier in 2WD.
