Called my local go to company for all things in the accessories line and they did not want to sell me any and said they caused so many issues that they won’t even install them anymore. Said older vehicles are ok but the channels on the new trucks are just to tight to cram plastic under it and not mess up the window motor. I like the looks of the in-channel low profile ones but was going to check in here first before I order any. Thanks guys!

I bought mine from weather tech and haven't had any problems. When you roll up your window for the first time the motor doesn't like it. But leave your windows closed for a few days and everything will be back to normal.

It’s silkscreened on...a little acetone on a cotton ball light rub and it’s gone then wipe with a wet cloth.

if you have window tint, DO NOT use in channel vent shades on your Tacoma! the absolute worst brand is WeatherTech too. Those put so much pressure on the window when it's rolled up it causes the tint to pinch in the corners. we stopped giving a warranty on our tint to customers who want to use, or already have in channel vent shades. I agree, the in channel ones look way better, but they cause too many problems if you like tinted windows. just a heads up.

I do run Va legal tent on my driver and passenger window, the rear ones didn’t need it.

I just installed my AVS in channel low profile matte finish ones about 2 weeks ago. Very easy to do, according to the directions you're supposed to keep the windows up for 72 hrs. Because the temps here have been in the 40s for the most part of the past few weeks, I left them up for over a week. I'm very happy with them and have opened and closed all of the windows with no issues. I hope it stays that way when it warms up in the Spring. I do wish they were about a 1/2 inch shorter, but that's just a personal opinion. I know there are several manufacturers of this style, as I had looked around before buying mine, but I'm happy with the AVS brand so far. Hope that helps - Bill in MA

Have had no issues with my WeatherTech and they were easy to install. I haven't noticed any tint peeling either.

I have tint on mine and haven't had any trouble at all with the vent visors or tint.

FWIW, I did have my front windows tinted to match the factory rear windows the day after I bought it. So far I've had no issues with the tint rubbing against the window gasket. Again, I hope this holds true when it warms up. Good luck in your choice - Bill in MA

I added the visors about a month after having the tint done.

if you haven't had issues with them and tint you are very lucky or your tint isn't very thick. we use 1.5 mil and 2.0 mil film in our shop and we have seen many cases where the tint was peeling from the pressure. it may not happen to every vehicle, but in my personal experience, I wouldn't chance it.

we tinted a 2016 Tacoma with WeatherTech vent shades 3 times within 5 months because his tint was peeling in the corners. after he paid the third time, he took the vent shades off.

I agree that the in channel vent shades give the truck a nice look and certainly look better than the stick on ones. I was just trying to share some of my experiences with them and window tint. I hope you guys don't have issues honestly. I wasn't trying to start a war, just share some knowledge from my experience. that is all.

I have no idea of the film thickness of the tint, but thanks for the heads up. The fact that it's been cold and I haven't been rolling the windows up and down a lot may play into it....or I am lucky! I hope my luck carries thru in the summer when it really warms up. I'll keep the gasket clean and very slightly "siliconed" to minimize any potential issues! Bill in MA

I’ve always used in channel because they have a much cleaner look. Never had any problems with them.

Now is it bc the tint hasn't really cured to the window when he was using them, or do they just mess it up no matter what?
