just going off of looks but I love Mud Terrain tires but after about 25k miles the tires get loud. All Terrain tires are nice looking and remain quiet for the span of their life but does not have that aggressive look of the Mud Terrain tire. Is there any recommendations on tires that is somewhere in between that has that Mud Terrain agreesive look but after 25k miles does not get as loud?

Goodyear Duratracs, Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Cooper Discoverer STT MAXX would be the three that I recommend. I'd stay away from the BFG K02's. Hope this helps!

for looks I'd say Cooper STT Pros are what you describe. but these kinds of tires get louder as they wear across the board, don't they? i have ST Maxx at 21k and they're still quiet, can't comment on the STT Pros... they look pretty aggressive and I'm not sure about their end of life noise level.

to all you reporting your tires... have you run them past 25k miles on road yet? if so, noise level?

I'm closing in on 30K on a set of STT PRO's (285/75r16) Noise level is slightly elevated, but not bad. If they aren't mud tires I don't know what is. On a September trip to Rush Offroad, we had KM2's Mickey Thompson's, etc...and my STT PRO's. I was the ONLY one who didn't need to be winched or dragged out of mud that day. I got around like I was on a paved road. Will be doing them again next set!

This. My STT pro's are great. I had a few sets of KM2's on trucks before this, and I will never go back after having the STT pro. Amazing tire both on road and off. Looks bad ass too.

I have about 10-15k on mine look they are barely worn. I would say at least 50k. Likely more though.

quite a few folk are saying they don't get over about 40k from the ST Maxx. not sure if STT Pros are similar. my ST Maxx set looks like I'll be replacing around 40k as well I'm guessing.

Another vote for the Nitto Ridge Grappler. Haven't had them long, but definitely like them more than KO2s I had on other vehicles.

Go with the STT Pros or Maxx's. Cooper makes a quality tire and if they made the Pro's in 255s I'd be running them over KM2s.

Don't get KM2s lol. They're fucking awesome on the trail but they only stay balanced for about 20 feet out of the tire shop and have gotten pretty noisy.

My experience with every BFG tire I have owned. haha. Balancing is a CHORE and they need a lot of weight. Seems they have poor manufacturing tolerances on these chunky off road tires.

I was running 255 KM2s before my ridge graps. They "walked" under 5mph, vibrated at 20mph and vibrated again at 40-50mph. Definitely noisy but not unbearable. But the on-road manners sucked, could not get any traction when it was wet and the ride was super stiff. Off road they were great, but for someone like me who doesn't go wheeling every weekend, getting something not as aggressive was a must.

The Toyo R/Ts have a 45k mileage guarantee. They are what I'm running now. I like them but was surprised at how loud they are. Nothing like a Nitto Mud Grappler but noticeably louder than stock.

Mine is a little over 2", not exactly sure since I adjusted the coils a bit. Camber is pushed all the way forward though, to about 4'. Still rubs when backing up and I had to trim some of the mud flaps. If I had a better wheel fitment (narrower wheels) I could probably fit them without a lift.
