Can anyone tell me how to remove this ugly thing off of my fender flare without damaging the paint and without making more of an eyesore of it then it already is..

This is the clear protective coating on my rear fender flare that has lost it purpose and any aesthetics may have once had. I am afraid I will mess things up worse trying to take it off but it is UGLY. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Used a harbour freight heat gun and some wax and tar remover to get mine off.

There is a trick to removing the chip film without leaving a lot of glue behind. Warm it up with a heat gun, get an edge or corner started and stretch it parallel with the panel. The more you can stretch it, the better. If you pull it directly away from the panel at 90 degrees, it usually leaves more glue behind and a bigger clean up afterwards. It’s basically the same way that those 3M command strips, come off of a wall so easy. I hope that makes some kind of sense.

In addition, something that might help is a scraper with a plastic razor blade. I never knew there were plastic razor blades until a few years ago and there are a lot of uses for them.

The same shit everyone else has.
Hair dryer or hot sunny day. It’ll peel off pretty easily. The adhesive underneath is a bit of a pain to clean up. Wd40, cleaner wax, goo gone, ect will work.

Maybe it’s just me but I love how that plastic sticker looks. I wouldn’t dare take mine off

A0E0357E-A8B4-4F63-8746-5EB3BBC4E9C5.jpg I just removed mine a couple weeks ago. I used a heat gun and plastic squeegee. I’d be careful using the 3m eraser wheel on the plastic flares. It could burn the paint right off and gouge the flare.

I am starting on this project and hit a snag. How do I remove this black trim piece at the front and bottom of the bed? I removed the rear clip from below the bed without any problems. There is a second clip under the bed toward the front that has a large square body on the inside of the bed. I tried a few different things; poking, prying twisting but no luck. Any suggestions?

Perhaps a (kitchen) pan scraper. Don't hold me to the accuracy of the name, but i believe that they are for scraping burned on food from the bottoms of pans.

Where would you find another one to replace it after you take it off?
