You should’ve seen the sheet the carrier recorded for dents, I’m pretty sure he checked off every panel as damaged to cover his ass. Car had no damage, where he checked it off.

To the guys in here saying stay away from these places because of some issue or another, can you elaborate at all..? I'll take first hand experience over what some youtuber says. No offense, just saying.

I might be in the market for a "new" daily driver this summer and would be interested in actual feedback just like OP

I looked at Carvana a few years ago. Most of the Toyota trucks they offered seemed to come from the rust belt. Decided I wasn't interested. A local Toyota dealer had the same kind of used trucks, too.

IMHO you have to be careful when buying a car, used car more so, and over the internet even more so. So just because you’ve think you’ve found what you want especially with an internet based seller, you had better check it out thoroughly. It would be worth taking it to a trusted mechanic to give a once over, but don’t hold that person liable if anything happens later on.
I think there is a consensus to ditch your car on vroom etc, if you’ve had major damage or issues.

@EatSleepTacos can give first hand account.

I sold my '18 to Carvana and it was painless and they paid me 2k less than I paid for it new.

I liked the process so much that I bought TWO vehicles from Carvana.

My first experience was my 2020 Tundra. I sold them my 2021 highlander and bought the tundra from them. The whole checkout experience was about an hour long. When they arrived I went for a test drive, inspected the truck and signed some paperwork. The whole thing took about half an hour. I financed through them (their rates were competitive) and because of that they handled all of the DMV paperwork. The truck showed up with 30 day temp tags and once my 7-day return window ended, they mailed me real plates.

Fast forward like a week and now my wife wants to trade in her 2019 Kia Sorento and get something smaller. There is a carmax near us who was offering thousands more on trade-in value for the Kia so it made no sense to lose out on that money by selling to Carvana. So I bought her new car, a 2019 Subaru Impreza, outright from Carvana. Because I had a profile with them and I wasn't trading anything in, the whole checkout process took about 15 minutes. Same deal when they arrived, I test drove it, signed papers, temp tags, etc.

Selling the Kia to Carmax was also simple. I got an online quote from them which is good for 7 days. I took them the car, they inspected it and bought it from me. I owed money on the car but they were able to pay off the loan and cut me a check for the positive equity right then and there, about $9k.

First hand experience of what, one or a handful of people? Hardly a good sample. I always research anything and any company I buy from.
Carvana reports and ratings at BBB:
    https://www.bbb.org/us/az/tempe/profile/online-car-dealers/carvana-llc-1126-1000037076
Vroom is not even accredited by the BBB. Wonder why?
    https://www.bbb.org/us/tx/stafford/profile/used-car-dealers/vroom-0915-90044633

I gave my opinion on why I don’t buy from these places, gonna see it, inspect it, and drive it before I sign anything. Many do however, have fun and good luck with that.

Another firsthand account, one of my corworkers bought his jeep from Carvana and liked the process, no qualms there.

@Dayman Karate recently bought an F150 from Carvana as well and can chime in with his experience.

No problems here. Had more features than in the listing actually. 7 days to try it out. Had a mix up with titlework, but it was straightened out. I’d buy again if it was another good deal.

Was gonna say this too. I almost bought through Carvana, not once but twice before finding my new Tacoma at my local dealership. My main reason for buying new was that the new vehicle was literally over $5K LESS than the second one I almost bought from Carvana. But a secondary reason was definitely reading all the horror stories about the registration hold up for so many purchasers.

What specifically in the fine print made you cancel? Just curious because I too ALMOST purchased from them even so far as getting the cashier's check!
