SO i searched, found some posts about 285/75/17 tires but they all end up getting turned into a 285/70/17 tire thread... or little info on it. SO that being said this tire is offered by some manufactures, it measures out to a 34/11.50, originally i was looking at a bfg 34/10.50 but they're 300$+ and really measure out to a little over 33 and i don't think thats worth it at all. I have found falken wild peak at3's in the 285/75/17 and they're under 200$ each thru my work price. I would like a taller tire but not a pizza cutter and this size sounds/looks perfect. Anyone have experience with it? Clearance, power loss, etc... tire on the left is a 285/75/16 tire on the right is the 285/75/17, not mounted on a wheel though. IMG_4704.jpgIMG_4705 2.jpg

Love that size. Fill in the wheels well perfect to me. Lost a little power. Suggest a re-gear IMG_7230.jpgIMG_7171.jpg

Put these on after the front bumper swap. Did the BMC and also some trimming on the fender as well.

I've got the toyo at2 in 285/75/17, proactively did the bmc and flattened pinch weld for clearance. I had a stock bumper on for maybe a month or 2, cut way too much off and ended up getting a pelfrey front bumper. Power lost, some but nothing drastic.

Subd for now but will have something to contribute in about a month.

Bit the bullet and paid for a set of the 285/75/17 Ridge Grapplers. I have preemptively done the cmc, beat the pinch weld, and also have LR UCA’s so I should be good but if not the sledge is coming out again. Also going to regear to 4.10 which should put the engine right back to factory gearing.

Talked to Tyler at Pelfreybilt today, that guy is awesome, super knowledgeable and answered a ton of questions, even gave me some alignment numbers to shoot for. He’s sure after some work they’ll clear fine so I’m going to go for it.

Your profile says you have Icons, are they installed in this picture? Any UCA's? How does/did the cab mount look?

I'm curious what work you think is going to be required to clear these, and what Tyler told you. I'm going to find out soon enough and I'll post back here with info but it sounds like you are going to beat me on the install. Regardless, I'm committed so I'm going to make them fit lol.

Yeah I have icon uppers and shocks, they’re on there in the picture but since they’re black you can’t really see any of it lol. Tyler told me BMC, pinch weld smash, and inner fender removal, possibly cutting more of the flare too. Also to try and see if I can get +3-4 degrees of caster angle. They deft hit the cab mount with a 45 degree turn of the wheel, I’m set to go next week to have the BMC and the rest of the work done then I’ll put the tires on and go from there.

I'm done with all of that except the liner removal. I heated mine up with a hot air gun and reformed them but it does still look like I'll need to trim them some. I don't really want to remove my liners so if they must go I'm thinking of trying to make replacements out of kydex.

Can you post pics as well as set ups? Shocks, arms, maybe even alignment numbers if you know them?

Any chance you can provide us with a little bit more info about what you had to cut? How much did you cut off of the cab mount? How much off the fenders (just trimming the rear corner or all the way around like the 35 guys do?) Approximate lift ? Wheel specs?

I'm committed and hate being needy but want to have all my ducks in a row before I get them mounted cause I'm cutting it close with time (limited by family and work) so that my truck is ready before KOH.

I did the regular cab mount chop just like everyone else running 285/70/17. When i went with 285/75/17, I had to trim ~1" off the fender (rear corner) to clear.

Sorry I don't have picture of that. Just sold the Truck. Bought a Jeep :anonymous:.

I had the Icon stage 3 lift on there ~2" lift. SCS Stealth6 17x8.5 w/4.3"bs.

Thank you sir; it is appreciated.

As for the jeep, I'd love to give you a hard time about it but I might be a hypocrite if I do:
