Hello Tacoma World! I am a complete novice when it comes to this and I apologize for it lol. :help:To start it off, I have the following items installed for my front suspension on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma:

    - Bilstein 5100's set @ stock height
    - ARB Old Man Emu Front Coil Springs - 2881
    - BFG KO2s (265/75/R16)

My current problem upon installation is that my tire touches/rubs against my UCA even when the wheel isn't fully locked. I believe that it still somewhat touches when the wheel is straight. I have attached pictures for you guys to see too. Any helpful advice is very much appreciated. :)

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Either aftermarket UCA, wheels with more offset or spacers.

Best to go with rims with neg offset. Have your alignment checked, may have an issue with your camber also.

Factory wheels? Is it rubbing on both UCA or just one side?

Will an alignment help fix the issue?

If the camber is jacked yes. BUT, I do not know the offset/backspacing of the wheels from Gen 1 to Gen 2, if they are different If the spacing changed that may be the issue.

You should have an alignment done after changing suspension. After the alignment if they confirm your camber is correct your next move is a wheel with more negative offset or spacers. Wheels are better, but a small spacer is no big deal either IMO to move the wheel out.

The rubbing is caused by your new wider tire 265/75 instead of the old stock 265/70. The tire is close to the UCA with the new tire. Solution 1- replace to an aftermarket UCA. Solution 2- a 1.25 inch wheel spacer will solve it. Solution 3- go back to 265/70.

No, you need spacers or a different wheel if you want to keep the tires.

I am running 12.5" wides on Toyota wheels and need 1.5" spacers to clear the sidewall on the UCA.

Those 2nd gen wheels are about 5.25" backspacing, as opposed to the stock 4.5, so you've moved the tire in 3/4".

Wheel spacers would fix it, or go back to a lower offset wheel.

265 is the width so it's the same. 70 -> 75 ratio adds height, moving the "section width" upwards towards the UCA (https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=265-70r16-265-75r16)

as others have stated, got to change one one of the three in order to keep your setup

Its the combo of the height and the backspace.

you will need to go back to a stock gen wheelto run that tire.

or spacers I guess from others suggested

    265 is the width...

the 70 and 75 is the aspect ratio (sidewall/width), so the new tires are taller, not wider.

By the looks in the pics, I doubt a 265/70 is going to make much difference.

@LIFTEDYOTA : As others said, either spacers, or non-2nd gen wheels that have the proper backspacing is how to fix your issue.

And even then, that won't guarantee they won't rub at all, they may just end up rubbing elsewhere. For example, my 265/75r16's on the stock alloy wheels rubbed the frame at full lock, even with a small lift. That didn't go away until I got new UCAs and a bigger lift. I tend to steer away from spacers, but that likely is the easiest and cheapest solution. Although you could sell your 2nd gen wheels and buy aftermarket ones and probably make money on the deal depending on the wheels you choose.

the back spacing is the issue. Did you get alignment done after installing those parts?
