I'm new and this is my first post.

I have a 2012 trd sport and have the stock long antenna that hits on everything. I like the look of the aftermarket short sporty trd antennas but every review I've read says they are cheap and don't last long and turn gold color. I use Bluetooth phone for music and not the radio. Can anyone recommend what they have on their truck and pic of what it looks like. Thank you!

Here you go, trust me you won't be disappointed! Reception is still good compared to stock

Just do what some have and cut your stock antenna down to size. The little ball at the tip apparently comes off and can be put back on the cut antenna.

Thanks, I had an Amazon order for other stuff, I added it. My wife says my antenna could be shorter and still give the thrill needed. I'll give it a try.

Some of the real shorties can be not as good. Depends where you live. All my rad towers are within 30 miles on a hill. If outta town it's my podcasts and music on the phone.

Find reviews I guess. Or go on a whim. They ain't that expensive.

I don't use the radio I only use the Bluetooth hook up to my phone for music and phone calls. the truck antennas reception doesn't affect my cell phone reception when I'm hooked up Bluetooth does it?

IMG_20151010_154925235_HDR.jpg Antenna x would be my recommendation. I had the small TRD one. It's nice. Reception sucked. Turned gold. I got a 14" antenna x, reception is still good, and my sport looks, we'll sportier.

I did that back in 2009 and posted how I did it.
I will search for it when I have more time.

I can vouch for this one too! I got the same one from O'Reilly's I believe it is called Raptor 17". I just went for the Stubby because I got tired of taking it off when I put my truck cover on.

I have the antenna-x aluminum. It turned copper/orange on me after 3 months. I hit that sumbitch with 3 coats of Krylon Flat Black and it has been flawless after a year and a half of getting beat up in the florida hot sun/hot rain/hot sun/warm rain seasons.

x3. Great antenna. Here's the autozone link: http://www.autozone.com/electrical-...tenna-mast/218788_0_0/?CJPID=2206300&cmpid=cj

Here's a couple more antenna threads where this antenna is talked about:

I removed the ball from my stock antenna (it's just pressed on), cut my antenna in half, slightly beveled the tip, added a drop of super glue to the ball and tapped it back on the tip - FREE. I can't tell the difference in reception, but I listen mostly to XM or MP-3's on a mini SD in a USB adaptor - 4GB = 1000+ tumes.

I haven't had an issue with it. It is not the best but I still get good decent reception and I am one of those that still hears the radio.

You mean you don't want the nice long antenna to make your Toy look like a RC truck?
