Yes. MM/ELT (nuke mechanic/reactor chemist) on submarines for 10 years. On the boat, maintenance was nothing short of a religion! Look up "Sub Safe" program and where it came from.

Mr. Q-tip. Please do a bit of research to learn about cavitation.

Just because bubbles are in liquid does not mean cavitation.

It is a result of a liquid dropping below it's vapor pressure causing a bubble to form. Then bubble encounters a high pressure zone to violently collapse. This collapse will eventually result in pitting damage. A common place to find this is on outboard motor props.

Good Luck with your Q-tips. I use them to clear my ears.

    Dude! Are you alright?

Where did I say I was interested in betting you on how many miles your truck will run?

WTF are you talking about "poker" for?

I'm now convinced this is 100% a troll thread. Enjoy your antics OP... at least it was an original artempt.

I don’t need to look it up. I grew up and still live 5 miles from the sub base and started my career in sub building. I was given a Bravo Zulu coin from a Captain during my present work in naval aviation. Thank you for your service.

Yep. I agree with your cavitation definition. Just don’t understand why you think I need to go do research on something we agree about. Hmmmm

An overfilled engine won't have cavitation. If cavitation were to occur, it would happen in the oil pump. Not in an overfilled sump.

    Finished here.

I'd imagine that , unless you run your engine long enough for it to reach full operating temp and stay there for a while, you're doing more harm than good to your engine. As a freshly started engine will be adding additional fuel. And short start /run cycles contribute to excess fuel/water ending up in said oil. My advice would be to find a hobby to occupy your time and leave that poor taco alone

This is the definition of working backwards.

change the oil every 5 if you wish but understand that there are some studies that show that wear is highest after an oil change. It then tapers off and remains low until the oil loses its effectiveness from additive depletion. Folks want to think there is this simple linear relationship where more time is more wear, complex mechanical systems are never so linear and chemical ones certainly are not.

Draining the filter is working backwards. Fill and leave as much oil in as possible.

Starting the truck remotely does more harm then good. The oil film doesn’t “drain off” over time. The oil film at 1 hour after shutting the engine off will be the same as 2 days after shutting the engine off, as two weeks. Starting it does no good.

running a magnet through it every 1k? Running it through a bypass system. This is where I hope you are trolling. That’s idiotic and a massive waste of time for no gain.

you have an engine that is proven to outlast the other mechanical components. At best you would reduce wear by an amount that is so small you cannot operate the tools necessary to measure it, and at that still for naught since wear won’t take out your motor anyways. At worst your fussing around cause more problems then it helps.
This is exemplar of those with nothing better to do.

    Ok. One more question.

Mr Q-tip. How do you avoid cold starts in January in MidWest or Northern states when temperatures can easily reach into the -20s*F or lower???

FWIW. Your logic and process have many holes and contain misinformation.

Sorry......now, I'm done with this nonsense.
