Looking for some Amsoil gear oil for my 16 TRD Sport, anybody on here have a connection for a distributor in Kelowna B.C.
Is this stuff the best oil for my front and rear diff?

as far as gear oil and tranny oil, i personally wouldn't stray from what toyota recommends.

I've been very happy with Amsoil's line, impressed by Redline's oil line, and never let down by royal purple or Mobil1, never tried Lucas oil.

Ultimately though oil weight and viscosity is more important than the label on the bottle. Whatever makes you happy but know that even the cheapest oil changed on time meets SAE standards.

Lube intervals are more important to observe than branding.

I don't disagree with that statement at all, other than the Royal Purple statement. Talked with the guys at ECGS and they said hands down the worse gear oil they have ever used.

Like I said never been let down but also never impressed by RP.

In all reality though most folks will never put their trucks through EXTREME conditions, and those that do typically either alread have a preference on oil or a sponsor supply and maintenance crew.

As to @donny.brooke run amsoil if you want, run mobile1 if you want to save a few bucks, unless yku're desert racing or just like to spoil your rig (like me) any oil you can buy at a box auto store will work well enough for daily driving and occasional offroad.

If you're really concerned about your diffs look into the diff breather mod for the front and rear diffs. That will do far and above more good for your diffs than the creme-de-creme of any oil.

Maybe a silly question, will the diff breather mod give Toyota any reason to void a warranty claim if you have problems with your differential?

Considering it's done with OEM parts and is easily reversable in 2mins I would say no.

Walmart Super Tech 75w90 GL5 semi synthetic gear oil is very good, cost effective and can get it locally, just do the 30k miles OCI for the driveline and life is good. Its essentially MAG1 brand gear oil relabeled to supertech, most Toyota dealerships use the MAG1 oil in their Service depts.

There is an Amsoil distribution center in Edmonton so shipping "shouldnt" be to bad.

I am a dealer, but I have never sold any to a Canadian customer before.

Most dealers dont stock product unless they are big and go to trade shows and what not or they are a "retail on the shelf" account. Ive tried to get a few retail on the shelf accounts setup, but shipping is generally over night from almost everywhere in the USA due to how their distribution centers are setup around the country. So most of the places I have talked to about being retail on the shelf, simply send their customers my way, and they know I will recommend people to go to them for various things.

I'd say if you had diff issues and you went in with the breather mod installed it could end badly for you. For the 2 minutes it'd take I'd remove and return to stock before taking it to the dealer

I have used Amsoil for a few years now and can say that it is the best. A bit pricey but worth it.

Funny, I've also used amsoil for years, and can say I noticed no difference so I went back to mobil1 for price and availability.

That said I ONLY put redline MT90 in my transmissions, that stuff is made from Unicorn Spooge.

Absolutely, wouldn't take any chances with that. Hopefully, I can stay clear of the diff plague.

I've used amsoil gear lube for years and have absolute confidence in it. I always just bought from them directly online. Don't know if the still do, but they used to give a discount if you became a member.

when you add in shipping costs it doesn't make monetary sense to get Amsoil, if you do the 30k OCIs locally purchased MOBIL1.Valvoline GL5 gear oils make more sense and you may get it on sale or buy with online/pickup locally, and coupon codes.
