So, I decided to install my powersteps yesterday and now have a little problem. The driver's side installed without issue when tapping in the wiring (got it right the first try even with multiple wires of the same color) but the passenger side was a different story. Anyway, the steps work great and lower appropriately, but now I have a blinking seat belt warning light and a steady red airbag looking light. Thinking that I may have jacked up one of the four purple wires that I had to test to get the back passenger side door to activate the step.

Anyway, before I attempt to repair the passenger side wiring, does anyone have another idea on what I may have done? The wires all looked ok after removing the tap, but they were very small wires so there may be some damage that can't be seen. A wiring harness guide might also help if someone has one and can share.

    Thanks in advance & Cheers!

Also, just noticed that when either of the passenger doors are opened the little info graphic in the guage cluster shows both doors opening. Anyone out there have an idea what might be happening here? (besides just that some of the wiring is now screwed up?)

    TIA- Dano

may not be a technical fix, but worth a try, disconnect battery for a few minutes and then reconnect, see if that resets anything. couldn't hurt and cost is nothing.

@Dano7891 Give AMP a call, they have awesome CS! Not sure where you are located but they were local to me (Tustin,CA) and ended up having me drive there to fix the door issue. I'm not sure if it was additional ECU programming or wiring in the harness but they said they would be updating the kits...my guess is you received your steps before the update since it's only been 2 weeks since I've been.

As to your original problem, I did not encounter that during my install but got lucky with the right wire so that may be user induced :annoyed:
