I’m looking for a short, 13 inches or less”, amber light bar that I could run during the day and night. Preferably bright enough you can see it in the day time. Any recommendations where I can get one or what brands/models to go with?

    Thanks

On top of my Allpro Apex bumper. Looking for something reasonable (budget price) and I don't need top grade since I want it mainly to be a DRL. However would like it to be bright so you can also see it in the daytime. Thanks for the link, those might work if there's not much options.

Check out black oak. I have a pair of their 12 w amber pods. They make great DRL's. I bet they make a short bar also.

Some dude was blinding me with his amber fog light replacements the other day. Don't be a jerk.

Apparently the time is whenever the user feels like it ... and the place is in town where everyone can see you at the 25mph speed limit.

The ONLY time I run them on the street is when we have a gnarly snow dump in town. Being a white truck in a snowstorm is a risky proposition.

Guess they weren't meant for DRL or SAE/DOT compliant? I know very well about being blinded since I spend a lot of time on the road. What I hate most is when people drive with their high beams on.

I'll also add that a lot of lifted trucks have this same blinding affect towards none lifted vehicles, even without aftermarket lights.

No, Baja Designs Squadron Pros with amber lenses are not DRL / DOT compliant.
Neither are people putting in the shitty blue "upgrade" bulbs into their reflectors and blinding the shit out of us.

Even all of the new cars these days with projectors that have nice cutoffs don't auto-adjust when they are at the crest of a hill and still blind the shit out of oncoming traffic. Or when they are overloaded in the rear and the cutoff line is way too high. In Europe, there are both auto-adjusters as well as manual adjustors for the cut-off to avoid this.

Ended up getting the RC light bar with amber LEDS. Wired them up to turn on with my DRL and a separate switch for the floods. So far I’m happy with them. I also like the black housing option as well instead of the reflective housing.
