How much are you thinking? Now wouldn't be a bad time to put my Vagabond Drifter on a slightly larger truck...

    No, not crazy.
I've just started looking to replace wife's car, and am looking at both 470 and 460. I think the 2007...08...09 models look real nice.
Post up a few pics of the Lexus.

A seasoned truck you know is as good of a second vehicle/backup you will ever get. There's no coming back once you sell it. Unless you really have no need, no desire to off road it, no need for a truck bed, no need for a back up and the money you are getting for it will significantly change your situation I'd consider keeping it.

my opinion on used luxury old vehicle don't really hold value. have an 06 RX400h cost twice as much to insure vs my 05 taco and its worth about half. maintenance seems to cost little bit more. kinda want to get rid of the lex.

GX is a solid off road vehicle with off road creds. v8 with a full time 4x4 is a win..win. As someone mentioned, if you can swing both do it. A good used truck is like a good old dog. If you cant i would not hesitate to trade in.

/\ then i wouldnt think twice about it. Wife and I test drove a 2016 GX and that thing was solid as a tank. Very quiet and stable. Really liked the old school body on frame SUV.

OK..just snapped this lame driveway photo......better than at the mall right.........:crapstorm:

Mall is 2 hrs away thank God.....

A few after market plans of course....the tires will get upgraded to the AT Goodyear UT

Lots of bells & whistles to say the least....Nav & Levinson sound are two biggest items...

    more pics later....

looking at the same rig to replace my wife's existing SUV

    arguably a better buy than a 4runner

    kinda wish I bought a GX470 or 4runner FWIW
supposedly they're all on the same frame as the Tacoma and FJ,
but for half the price, enclosed back, rear spring suspension, more luxurious, etc.

idk how frequent the V8 belt needs changing,
I hear they only get 1 less mpg,
it seems a certain year range Tundra also came with it

they seem as rare as a good Tacoma, if not more rare and harder to find,
not to mention them selling quick on the market making it harder to get one

    also: Landcruisers

having a truck bed is cool and all,
but I feel like SUV's can hold big cargo too, such as in the back, sticking out the trunk, on the roof, or towed on a trailer which might only cost $60 to rent
