Is it possible to relocate the stock AM/FM antenna and associated wiring somewhere else on the vehicle? Do you think it would be possible to route the stock wiring assembly (with an extension, if needed) to the bed?

I've always liked the look of rear-mounted antennas on vehicles, but have no use for a CB or HAM radio and don't want a purely decorative antenna.

Yes. Get the Motorola adapter then move or install a new one anywhere.

I’ve tried several spots as the shark fin is simply a gimmick that sucks for HD radio unless you live in a city.

Currently I have an adjustable length on a flex mount on my rollbar (right side in pic).

@Cudgel, can you provide some more details on the Motorola adapter? Also, how did you plug the hole left after removing your antenna from the stock location?

Still no good fix for reception?
Dayum...I mean it's 2020. What's it take to get decent radio reception in a modern truck?

I have no idea, man. I haven't messed with radio wave propagation theory in 10 years, so I don't have any solution other than "get BIG antenna BIG is GOOD :militarypress:".

Bump for mansers. Anyone have a different antenna mounted in a different position to improve reception?

The only “better” position I can think of would be basically dead-center on the roof. I think the fender mount is a compromise between reception and low(ish) profile.

unless they make a plug. You will take sheet metal and weld it in. Do filler work and then prime and blend the paint.
