Trying to gauge interest in custom aluminum fender liners for the Tacoma. These are popular with the Jeep crowd but for some reason not a thing with Toyota’s. Probably because no one makes them.

RCR4WD presently makes these out of mild steel which in my opinion is prone to rock chips damaging the powder coating with resultant corrosion. I am trying to get these guys to make them out of lightweight aluminum. They said not unless there is significant interest. As you can see, these offer significantly more protection than the stock liner. Total surface area is 90% vs 33% with the OEM liner. There were concerns about bolting the body to the frame. These are secured with rubber grommets and designed to flex. There is no metal on metal rubbing. Additional request for more UCA clearance for those with aftermarket UCA’s that need more room to adjust, and another request to make the cutouts perforated or mesh to allow more air flow through the radiator will be available. There is no increase in road noise on the highway due to rocks. Off-road obviously this changes.

I have no affiliation with the fabricator. I just want the product made.

This spans other models that share the same platform including the GX460, 4th and 5th gen 4runners, Tacoma, and FJ. The interest is already significant, (halfway point in one day).

    PM me for more details.

Mesh style to allow more air flow to radiator pictured below. Won’t look exactly like this as the mesh will likely be in the form of cutouts but you get the idea.

They look spiffy but there is a functional component here.

These will reduce the amount of water, mud, rocks that sling into the engine bay. If you look at the bottom of any 100k mile Tacoma or 4Runner you will notice the bottom of the engine has rust due to exposure to the elements and heat cycles. Some folks fender liners are getting beat up and they want a metal option.

I would be very interested as well.

Then again, the fact I don't have liners on mine is not so much a bad thing either because it sure does make it easy to work on since it allows so much access to the side of the engine bay.

I guess if you're talking full liners in the rear, im just looking to replace the fender flaps in the front that always seem to come loose. Not looking to replace the entire fender liners

looks like another thing to rattle around and drive me nuts. I opted to buy shower pan liner from Home Depot and make some better skirts to fully block out mud dirt etc
