    Hi all,

I have Mobtowns rear plate bumper on my 2nd gen, with the light cutouts. I’m tired of looking at these holes in my bumper and want to throw on some lights. I very rarely do off-roading and it’s never anything hardcore. I do, however, go camping a lot. I wanted the cutouts so I could pull up to where we’re camping and get some light on the camp spot while we’re setting up.

I know nothing about lights. I went to look up which lights my bumper was built for (Baja Designs S2 pro flush mount) and they’re pretty pricey as well as a ton of options on pattern and lens color. So I’m a little overwhelmed. I don’t want to spend $400 on something that’s overkill and that I could have gotten for $60 (obviously the $400 ones will hold up a million times longer and be brighter/better made, just might be overkill for what I’m using them for). I also don’t want to spend $400 and get the wrong pattern or color or whatever.

TL;DR - what are some alternatives that are the exact same size and screw placement as Baja designs S2 pro flush mount? If there are none, where is the cheapest spot to buy them and what configuration should I buy if I’m just using them as a glorified flash light?

You dont need the Pros for that, The S2 sports will be more then enough as backup lights. I use the sport driving combo and seems to work perfect.

Ok cool, so the S2 sports are the same exact dimensions?

I don't have light alternatives, but here are the options that light comes in. For your use, it sounds like work/scene lighting would be best..but it comes down to personal preference as well. If you find an alternative, they may not have a "work/scene" light, but rather a flood pattern, which would be very similar.

Driving/Combo: Maximum trail coverage in a single light. The Driving/Combo pattern is equipped with both Driving (42°) and spot (9°) optics to provide you with a smooth blend of light for both near field applications and distance (Lighting Zone 3)

Wide Cornering: BD was the first to develop a pattern specifically for cornering, dust and/or fog conditions. The Wide Driving pattern offers a 42° flattened horizontal beam for the ultimate in comfort lighting. (Lighting Zones 1 & 2)

Spot: A longer and narrower 9° beam focus for illumination further down the trail or road. The Spot pattern is designed to be used in conjunction with additional Wide Driving and/or Driving/Combo beam lights. (Lighting Zone 4 & 5)

Work/Scene: Excellent work light or “scene light” with an extremely smooth 120° circle that projects about 40ft. This pattern is not suitable for driving. (Lighting Zone 7)

Hit up @memario1214 for a price on the S2’s. Like @paranoid56 said you don’t need the pros. I have S2s on the back of my shell and they are perfect for camp lights.
