I’ve been running with Iceco, a JP30 and it’s wonderful. Simple and straightforward. 5 year warranty and a danfoss compressor if that means anything to you. I would recommend the JP40 if you have more than 2 people worth of food for a weekend.

My set power rv45d has worked great with no issues. Dual zone is pretty sweet. Back when I bought it in 2021 it was $355. They upped the price but it appears to be on sale for $379. Set Power is owned by ICECO. No need to spend $1k+ IMO.

I use a Whytner that I bought it in 2016. Still going strong. Used for week long trips where it was it in the sun in 100 degree weather. Has been rained on more than once too.

Running an Iceco VL45PRO for the last 6 months, powered by a Bluetti EB3A. No complaints what so ever.

    It depends on your needs.

Top of the line ones are of course awesome, but pretty expensive. >$800. Should last a long time and will honor warranty.

Middle of the road work really good. $500 ish. But claiming a warranty may be iffy. Might not last many years but a decent amount.

Lower end work good, but usually cant keep stuff frozen. Beer temp is fine though. $200-$300. Forget about the warranty unless DOA. Will last a couple of years.

So I think it comes down to how long you want to use it and for what.

Then there is also metal or plastic outer shell. Both have their pros and cons.

Like others posted, I've heard only good things about Iceco and was keeping my eye on them when a used ARB came up. So, that would be my best suggestion. Keep an eye out for used ones.

The ARB that I got sips current and has been killer in and out of the Taco.

Another vote for Iceco. I'm running a JP30 in my office 24/7.

I bought my Iceco after a used ARB that I was looking at got sold for a few more dollars more than the agreed upon price that me and the seller had.

Left a bad taste in my mouth so I dropped the coin on a new unit.

I'd follow @tonered advice and look for a used unit if your in a well populated area that will allow it.

Iceco go20 works good for me. Can get 2 days out of a bluetti 500 in the summer (northeast). Just wait them out for a sale.

I've had an edgestar 43qt in my truck bed since 2017. No longer sold, but I think it's the same thing as whynter. Best $450 I've spent - hurricanes, camping, working in the field.

I have a Bodega 64 quart dual zone that I am just getting ready to start using. I have tested it and it froze 8 ounces of water solid in about 2.5 hours. I will post a more complete report when I get back from my first extended use in a couple of weeks.

I think the key to many of these less expensive brands is to get it nice and cold plugged into power at home and put items in it that are frozen or cooled in the home fridge. Keeping cold will always be easier the making cold.

My parents have been using an Alpicool cf35 for a few years now as their vacation fridge.
It seems to work great as an occasional road trip fridge.
