Crutchfield site list them as 6-5/8" deep. I see Alpine list them at the 5-1/2" Wonder what the really are?

Friend of mine ran 2 of them in a single cab T100.

    Impressive to say the least.

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
Type r’s are LOUD. Quality woofer. They do protrude a lot, so make sure there’s clearance

Build a cardboard box in the same size, to see if the is room. If it doesn't crush behind rear seat, your good to go...

That thing uses the same box as the PPI snbx.8 but doesnt have a amplifier built in, and is double the price.

Not sure the quality of PPI anymore, but back in 1998-2002 when I used them they were great.

Replace existing speakers, add an amp, etc.

Doing that also...plus head unit and wanted to put the subs behind the rear double cab seats.....I am guessing from someone above that it will not fit.

Does anyone know the dimension for behind the seats which could assist me?

    Oahu, Hi
I hope these fit, Alpines are a good brand and it would save me a ton of money rather then getting the JL.

Pretty certain Crutchfield is including XMax in their measurement. Fitting the box is 1 thing, but if you don't have room for X then your speaker isn't doing anything.

I used to have a PPI in my Ranger back in 2004...downward firing running off my fosgate amp....it was pretty good, but I think my Old Rockford HX2 beat a little harder
