It is not laggy at all. The only thing I have noticed is the steering wheel buttons don't work until I hit the volume up or down on the unit itself. Once I do that everything works as intended. It's like it needs to wake up. Super easy habit to get in.

I don’t have that problem at all on mine. It could be something with the Maestro setup.

I got mine installed, minus the e-brake by-pass. My only real complaints are the wireless Android auto is a little flakey. It suts out for a split second then starts again. Some times it also forgets that it's supposed to be working and creates a HUUUUGGGGEEE delay. Like a 30-second delay between starting a song and actually playing it. The mic that @WaitingOnMyR1T suggested is REALLY sensitive.

Do you guys notice any vibration with the floating screen? I go down a washboard dirt road pretty often...

I havent had any issues, but I don't drive on washboard roads. I have been through some pretty heavy construction areas where the roads are shit.

I haven’t noticed anything with our 4Runner. Screen is pretty snug. It’s hinged to fold down some and takes some effort to move it.

Anybody having any issues with this head unit? I’m trying to decide between this alpine ilx f509 or the Sony xav9500es from trail grid pro. Any issues?

Right now I am having issues with the wireless anrdoid auto. Sometimes it will induce a 30+ second delay. Like I will skip a song and it will take like 30 seconds to execute. Then anything else I do is delayed. The only way to fix it is to power it off and back on. But there is no power button, so I have to shut the truck off. I am working with Alpine now about it.

Thanks for the reply. I like that this head unit has so much capacity to add to it but I am concerned about its reliability. Would like to know how things go with Alpine. Did you buy from TGP?

I did. And I heard back from Alpine. They want me to try wired AA and see if the problem continues. I HOPE this is an AA issue and not a HU issue.

I went with the 7” version of this model, almost went with the bigger screen but was worried about it bouncing around, happy with the purchase. I was also worried that a bigger screen might block the air vents on either side…

The hinge is very tight and does take effort to move, and I have not noticed any bouncing. That being said, its only a few weeks old.

There is an off button. No need to shut the truck off.

You'd think that Alpine support would point that out
