After 5 days of driving around in my wife’s new sequoia, I feel the need to upgrade the head unit and my speakers.

Which of these 3 head units should i choose and why?

    -Alpine Halo11
    -Sony XAV-9500es
    -other?

my biggest wants are wireless CarPlay and a big crisp screen.

I’m not looking for something crazy when it comes to the speakers, I was thinking about doing the kicker KS system from TGP.

FYI, Looks like TGP released an Alpine 7, 9 and 11" Halo head unit. I saw the sale on Sonys there about a month ago and figured something was in the works and this looks like that something. But I am interested in the Alpine 9" version as there seem to be a lot of positive reviews. The Sony was too big for my tastes as well as the 11". I can't help with speakers as I got some Focal flax series recently and probably out of scope for what you are looking for. Kickers get a lot of love around here.

    Pioneer makes some solid units
Sony units make some nice power. Probably the best when just using the head unit only

I've got the TGP Sony 9500 bundle and i love it. I drive three hours a day so having a big screen with waze going is a game changer for me. The eq and clarity are much better than stock, as for the speakers i'm running focal/audio frog so i can't compare to stock. The matte screen is also a great feature for reducing glare. The install is plug and play just watch the install video. Wireless carplay/android auto is also a feature i didn't know i needed. The alpine or the sony will be a great upgrade, best of luck.

Do you have to purchase the anytime front and camera mod separate, or does this head unit have that feature already?

I just bought the head unit and plugged it up, the maestro integrated with my stock pro camera so i still have all the angles including the 360. If you don't have a front camera then i think it's all separate. Trail grid has awesome customer service i'd reach out to them.

Do you have a side profile shot for how close it sits to the bezel?

Has anyone has issues with the Halo 9 or 11 getting the back up camera to function properly? When I’m in reverse the camera shorts out and isn’t a clear picture

which backup camera are you using? and what do you mean by 'shorts out'? does it make all sorts of sparks and crackling noises?

‘17 OEM Back up. Shorts out meaning the image gets scrambled and after awhile of driving it will just turn black if I’m back in reverse. Thinking I need to replace the OEM but not sure

are you using a 6v adapter? the oem camera is 6v, not 12v.
