I personally have not had them on my truck for that long but I have a buddy that has had the pro’s on his tundra since 2019 and he has had no issues with fogging or condensation. My truck get very wet being up here in NW plus I spend allot of time in mud and water crossings. I have had no issues with fogging while “driving wet” They do seam like they are allot more sealed then spider and others. (I went through 4 brands until I found one I was happy with. They might not be as sealed as the rubber boot on the stock (I’m going from memory on that, might be wrong) but I do remember mine would not stay all the way one and would vibrate off. This eliminating the whole reason for said boot. I do a lot of banging and bouncing around. I use and abuse my poor girl and these lights have held up. No problems with the lights nor motherboard breaking or going out. My spec-d lasted 2 month. My spyders lasted 6 month.
They do scratch though. But that might not be fair as even my stock ones where beat to hell from the trails. Hope this helps. I was right there with you before I pulled the trigger. They are just so darn expensive. But hey, we are building a better future one taco at a time

Have had them on for 7 months now and have not malfunctioned, leaked, fluttered, filled with water etc at all. I’ve had tons of poor quality headlights before these. Excellent headlights for our 2nd gens. I personally recommend.

I wired them exactly how you’re supposed to, and I really liked the amber look, however they don’t do it naturally. It’s really stupid, but you just have to turn the lights all the way on before you start they vehicle, and they will stay Amber. If that makes sense?

finally got the answer I was after!! Thank you. I ordered some for my 2014 and have been on the hunt to find out how to make the DRL amber.

Something else is if my truck already has a DRL switch do I have to wire differently for it to work? I made have misunderstood but read some post saying they had to set up the DRL themselves.

Hey guys, I've had the Pro series on my 2nd gen for about 10 months, and still love them. I primarily changed up the OEMs due to yellowing and a lack of DRL.

The pieces I'd like to alter though are the amber low beam bulbs over to white, so it better matches the LED strips/DRL and my fogs. Has anyone found a decent H7 bulb they'd recommend or tricks to opening the housing?

    Thanks

Love the lights man! Just found these yesterday. Was curious if you could post a real world pic of the output? What kinda Has are you running? I was thinking of picking up a set of these after I install my lift and using some decent bulbs like some Philip's race vision or something along those lines.

Alpharex's photo shows the resistor mounted on the back of the housing. Is there anything separate dangling off the wires to plug in?

I’m not sure what you mean by “or both”. I have OEM LED taillights, but to my knowledge none of the second gens came with led headlights or turn signals. That being said, the only thing led about mine are the brake lights (not the blinkers). I know I would need resistors if I just replaced the turn signal bulbs with LED’s in the front or the back. I don’t think the headlights or taillights themselves are even relevant because none of the second gens came with led turn signals. I haven’t purchased these headlights but surely they did their research and built in resistors for the turn signals. If not then that’s no good.
I’m not worried about the headlight bulbs having resistors as I don’t even plan to get the LED version. All I am asking about is the turn signals.

I have a set of Novas on my 09 along with LED tail lights (aftermarket) that came with resistors as part of the tail light and I have hyper flashing only when I turn on the running/head lights. I have been in contact with A/R regarding the issue and they are telling me that I still need a resistor to be installed which doesn't make any sense considering the Tail lights already have a resistor as part of the light and the problem only happens when I turn on the my running/head lights.

These are the LED lights I bought.

Sorry for the late response. Did you ever find a good bulb for them, or a means to opening the housing correctly to change them out? I haven’t dared lol

Did you replace the low beams?

Sorry for the late reply and awful grammar. No I haven't. Could you post a pic of your light output by chance? I was thinking of picking these up but not if the light output is subpar ya know?

Light output is a massive increase, in foreground light. Which is by definition subpar for a headlight. Not recommended.

Light output isn’t great when the low beams are on. Nothing beyond the factory honestly. If there was a way to change the low beam bulb (uncertain) without compromising the integrity of the seal, then I would recommend. They do look pretty good to me though.

I got the LUXX model for my 2012 Prerunner when they were released. Not installed them yet. I have the factory DTRL, where the turn signals steady burn amber when the vehicle is on unless the parking brake is active and blink in Hazard or signal mode. Mine also came with the factory LED taillights. My question is, would I need resistors?

See the video linked in the post below for just how bad the AlphaRex headlights are. The design is severely flawed and they are not a headlight pattern at all, look where the hot spot is in the pattern. Definitely a product to avoid.

Coming from the modded car side and messing around with multiple (too many to admit) aftermarket headlights, very rarely does the quality and output beat OEM. The reality is most of these are cheap Chinese lights with the company having little to no R&D budget compared to a car manufacturer, and cheap materials that wont stand up to UV abuse. Every aftermarket set I've owned has ended in disappointment.

The headlight upgrade that @crashnburn80 put together with some new smoked housing OEMs has been a dream come true.
