Hello, I have a 2006 Tacoma and I put 31” tires with 20” rims around May. Since then I’ve been having serious vibrations with the steering wheel and the whole car once I hit 50 mph but it goes away when I hit 70 mph. My car also steers to the right bad. I got my tires aligned last week, and I’m still having the same problem. I don’t drive on bad roads, I haven’t hit a curb hard, and the car has 150,000 miles. Please help!

What were the before and after alignment numbers? Put the old wheels/tires on and see if it goes away. I'm betting it will, since it started when you took them off and put those other ones on. If it does, then you know it's just shitty wheels and/or tires. What kind of wheels/tires are they anyway? Are you sure they are correct size and fitment for the Tacoma hubs? I'm assuming you have inspected the wheel and hubs since installing and having problems.

Also, you say "keeps going out" but the understanding I have is that it's been pulling/vibrating since you installed the wheels/tires and after having the alignment checked/adjusted it still has the same problem.

Not sure what the before and after numbers were. I don’t have the old wheels because they were worn down and the rims were done for. The rims are from dynamic wheel group, kind of a knock of version of American force. And the tires are form nexen. And they should be the right size cause I went to a well known wheel place called wheel world and they installed it themselves. But I’ll look into to hub and figment sizes.

    MORE Leverage

MORE friction on the front end..............on Urz & others even tho they might NOT

Sounds like a wheel/tire quality or fitment issue. I would take it back to the installer, describe your problems and that you've had an alignment and ask them to take a look at them. I've heard of problems with nexen tires, but mostly just problems with balancing and vibration.

The pulling Could also be a tire pressure problem or even a radial pull. A good alignment tech would check the tire pressure during the alignment to make sure that’s not a problem. You can check for a radial pull by swapping the front tires side to side and see if the pull changes directions.
As far as the vibration goes. A lower profile tire and bigger wheel will be more prone to having vibrations since there’s not as much cushion.. are the wheels the correct center bore? If not did the tire shop install hub centric rings? Or it could be as simple as excessive road force, the tech didn’t know how to balance a tire, or a wheel isn’t true. When it comes to wheels and tires you get what you pay for and I’ve seen plenty of off brand wheels be warped right out of the box.

Hello guys, just want to update everyone on what the issue finally was. It was a combination of many things. First my rack and pinion needed to be replaced, second it was a bad tire and rim figment. Didn’t know much when I got them but now I do. Third, it was also a tire pressure issue, didn’t put the correct psi (put too much) and worn down the tire the wrong way. Learned all this after getting a job at Champion 4x4. Thanks everyone!
