Hi everyone I'm new to this forum looking for advise on a issue I'm having before I take to a shop.

Last week while driving I noticed the SRS light came on recently and I'm not sure what is causing it.
The funny thing is this happens intermittently, some days it doesn't come on other days its on the entire time.
I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem before, not entirely sure what causes it.
I've never noticed it before, but when no one is sitting in the passenger seat the airbag off light isn't on but it will turn the on light on when someone sits in the passenger seat.

The only modification I've ever done to this vehicle is adding some extra lights to the car, they use the INJ fuse location with an add a fuse. I don't think looking at the wiring diagram that is remotely connected to the srs system.

I think it's normal. The light comes on automatically when is detects something in the front seat.

BTW, on my TRD if I put a bunch of stuff in the front passenger seat I have to connect the seat belt to avoid the chime going off.

Thanks, its something I've never noticed so it was driving me crazy along with the srs light issue, i was thinking they were connected. if i leave my school bag in the front seat it will sometimes turn the "off" light on but its rare. it will always turn the "on" light on when someone sits in the seat from what I can tell.

In my experiance the auto part store scan tools don't deal with the airbag system. For airbag system scan tools you usually have to spend at least $100, the $20 scan tools only deal with engine/transmission/ABS faults I believe

I have 3 Toyota vehicles so the Foxwell was on the spendy side but worth it for me. If you are under warranty have the dealer look at it.

if you put something lighter than a human on the seat, the light will turn on, indicating something is on the seat, but not heavy enough to activate the airbags.
Not sure if this is what you are experiencing though.
