Hi. I removed my driver and passenger seats to detail and then replaced them, making sure everything was plugged in properly. When I turn in the truck, the airbag light turns on and the seatbelt light blinks with no sound. The battery was disconnected the whole time. I already tried to disconnect for 30 minutes and reconnect the battery. I have rough country seat covers tightly tucked into the seat, I’m not sure if this could have something to do with it.

Edit: I had 1 connector loose under the passenger’s seat. AND I loosened my seat covers, which fixed the problem. Thanks for all the help.

I’m not 100% sure but I think on the newer Tacomas if you unplug the driver seat even with the battery off the airbag light still turns on. I may be wrong though.

Loosen your seat covers and recheck. Someone found this to be the problem recently. There’s a sensor that detects weight on the seat and then about how much, to determine if the passenger’s side front airbag should be deployed (adult) or not (child).

By - airbag light on, do you mean the 'passenger air bag' lamp is activated - or is there an air bag fault light on the dash?
There is a pressure pad that "senses" when there is a passenger or thing weighing enough to activate the passenger air bag. If there is not the air bag is not activated.
So if there is, the 'passenger air bag' light will light and prompt for the passenger to put their seatbelt on - hence the flashing seatbelt light.
My 2 cents = The seatcover is on tight enough to activate the weight sensor. How your going to remedy this is entirely up to you...but I would not leave the seat cover on. Look to getting something a bit not so tight.
    Hope this helps

I’m getting both actually. The passenger airbag light next to the glove compartment is on as well as the dash light. Thank you for the advice!
