Well my first test was some frozen french fries.. cook for 20 minutes at 400F .. my model recommended shaking halfway thru so that's what I did .. super crispy and no oil added!

Shenanigans don't hold up well when air fried. Ya' gotta deep fry them.

To continue from the smoking thread:

I don’t really do anything special for air fryer wings.

I just “fry” up some fresh wings at ~350degf until crispy without any seasoning and toss them in buffalo sauce.

The buffalo sauce is the same one @Cold Iron posted in the smoking meat thread. It’s my go-to buffalo sauce now.

    1/2 cup salted butter
2/3 cup of your favorite hot sauce. I prefer Texas Pete but many people like Frank’s
    1.5 tbsp of white vinegar
    1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

mix all of that in a sauce pan and then add cayenne pepper and garlic powder to taste. The cayenne pepper is what determines the heat in the sauce.

What time and temps do you use for your wings?

For a couple of years now have been researching Air Fryers. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. I keep reading that it is basically a convection oven and have a toaster oven that has convection option and use that. But have been trying to convince myself that I need one, I think it would be good if people would quantify their recipes with the type of Air Fryer they are using. What is good, and what is not so good.

Believe me I respect your opinion and even have taken to grilling tater tots ;) If anyone could convince me good chance you could.

Feel I got burnt with the whole Sous Vide thing and still have all the gear, give me fire and smoke..

Wait who the hell replaced the anonymous emoji with a damn pumpkin? Root should be replaced with sudo, just saying... @tcBob

Yeppers and thank you for the compliment. Did my twilight tour before retiring from the Navy in Asheville, NC and handled Western NC. Would have to have applicants on deck in Charlotte at the Federal Building by 0600 and sometimes never got to sleep when running them to MEPS and would go through Kings Mountain at O'Dark thirty. Watched them build the "Bills South" stadium from the loading dock in the back of the Federal Building smoking a stogie and drinking coffee. Bill Polian almost pulled it off out of the gate. But hey we still have wings...

    BACON

    Temp: 400
    Time: 10-11 Mins

Lay strips on bacon in the fryer (as many as you want/can fit). Insert the basket and start it off. No need to preheat. After about 6 minutes or so flip the bacon if you want. Actual time depends on how thick the bacon is and how crispy you like it. When done remove and drain extra fat and reload and start next batch. :)

Only way I’ve made it faster and easier was when the wife was having our daughter and on a MAJOR bacon kick. I then heated oil and deep fried it.
